The invention relates to continuously variable manual drives for seat adjusters in motor vehicles. According to a first embodiment of the invention the drive has a transmission step (77') which is coupled to the drive (4) on the input or output side. A second embodiment of the invention provides a continuously variable manual drive for seat adjusters in motor vehicles in which the drive and the output-side gear elements are joined by means of a controllable coupling device which when not actuated maintains the power flow between the drive and the output-side gear elements by way of spring preloading and in the actuated state breaks the connection between the drive and the output-side gear elements, thus permitting a passive seat adjustment.

A mechanical rectifier (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) efficiently rectifies or converts alternative clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of a main handle (180) or other active driving element (660) into unidirectional rotation of a main shaft (102, 202, 302, 402, 502, 602). This mechanical rectifier is useful in manual tools such as a "non-waste screwdriver", which eliminates the wasted hand motion inherent in all ordinary hand tools, and in energy-saving devices such as a wave-powered electrical generator. The basic mechanical rectifier includes a shaft, two driving elements (120, 124, 220, 224, 320, 324, 420, 424, 520, 524, 624), and a reversing mechanism (108, 208, 308, 408, 508) coupling the two driving elements so that they can only rotate in opposite directions.

본 발명은 자동차 시트쿠션에 설치되어 작동레버를 회전시킴에 따라 자동차 시트쿠션에 설치된 링크기어를 회전시켜 자동차 시트쿠션의 높낮이를 조절할 수 있는 자동차 시트쿠션용 펌핑 디바이스에 관한 것이다. 상술한 바와 같은 본 발명에 따른 자동차 시트 쿠션용 펌핑 디바이스는 항상 동일한 위치에서 균일한 클러치력이 발생되며 작동레버의 흔들림을 방지하여 작동레버가 항상 정 위치에 위치할 수 있도록 할 뿐만 아니라 동일 방향으로 작동레버를 연속작동 할 시에 작동레버가 공 회전되는 각도를 최소화하여 조작성을 대폭 향상시켜 작동레버의 조작력을 링크 기어까지 효율적으로 전달할 수 있도록 하여 사용자의 편익을 대폭 향상시킴은 물론 궁극적으로 시트 전체의 품질 향상을 도모할 수 있도록 하는 효과가 있을 뿐만 아니라, 조립성과 생산성을 대폭 향상시킬 수 있도록 하는 효과가 있다.

A motion converting mechanism according to the present invention is constructed such that pinion gears (10, 11) are in meshing engagement with a circular arcuate gear (8) for performing reciprocating circular arcuate motions about a pivot, and two sets of one-way clutch mechanisms (16-19) are provided in transmitting routes from the pinion gears (10, 11) to an output shaft (1), thereby rotating the output shaft (1) in the same direction. With this arrangement, the output shaft (1) is rotated in the same direction while the circular arcuate gear (8) moves forward and backward. Furthermore, a rotary tool according to the present invention is adapted to utilize the above-described motion converting mechanism, and the grip portion (6) of a reciprocatingly rotating member is reciprocatingly rotated with respect to a lever portion (5) of a main body, so that an output gear (4) can be rotated in the same direction, thereby rotating an article to be rotated in the same direction. With this arrangement, bolts, screws and the like can be tightened or untightened. Furthermore, another motion converting mechanism according to the present invention uses a circular gear (8) as an input portion, and the output shaft (1) is rotated in the same direction even when the circular gear (8) is rotated in either direction.

A reversing member (44) is provided for changing the direction of rotation of the output member (34). A first mechanism (20, 38) rotates the output member (34) in a first direction in response to a first direction of rotation of the input member (21), and this first mechanism (20, 38) does not drive the output member (34) in response to a second direction of rotation of the input member (21). A second mechanism (22, 40) rotates said output member (34) in the first direction in response to the second direction of rotation of the input member (21), and this mechanism (22, 40) does not drive the output member (34) in response to the first direction of rotation of the input member (21). The axis of rotation of the input member (21) and the axis of rotation of the output member (34) are coaxial.

The invention relates to a drive which operates on both sides and which is provided for use in adjusting devices, especially for seats in motor vehicles. The inventive drive comprises a pivotally mounted drive lever (10) for, starting from an initial position, effecting a turning movement in one direction or the other as desired, a drive wheel (30) which is only turned when the drive lever (10) is moved out of the initial position, and comprises coupling elements (21a, 21b), which are arranged on the drive lever (10) and which have coupling areas (23a, 23b) for transmitting a turning moment onto the drive wheel (30). In order to transmit a turning moment, the invention provides that the coupling element (21a, 21b) can be coupled to the drive wheel (30) via at least one positive locking element (29a, 29b) and by one elastic element (51).
