In an example, a selection valve of a fluid supply system is disclosed. The selection valve selectively couples a source of pressurized air to one of first and second fluid supply cartridges, in the fluid supply system, to provide fluid to a printhead, the one of first and second fluid supply cartridges being coupled to the source of pressurized air at a time and other fluid supply cartridge being vented to the atmosphere. The selection valve includes a sleeve to provide interconnections with the source of pressurized air, the first and second fluid supply cartridges, and the atmosphere. Further, the selection valve includes a core disposed rotatably inside the sleeve to selectively couple the one of first and second fluid supply cartridges to the source of pressurized air and the other fluid supply cartridge to the atmosphere for switching the pressurized air between the first and second fluid supply cartridges.

Offenbart wird eine Kontaminations-Verhinderungseinrichtung zur Verhinderung der Kontamination eines in einem Fluidbehälter gespeicherten Fluids mit einem Spike (12) sowie einer manuell betätigbaren Fluid-Sperreinrichtung (14), die unmittelbar stromab zu dem Spike (12) angeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist ein Rückschlagventil zwischen Spike (12) und Fluid-Sperreinrichtung (14) angeordnet, das dazu angepasst ist, nur eine Strömung vom Spike (12) in Richtung zur manuell betätigbaren Fluid- Sperreinrichtung (14) zuzulassen.

First and second inlet ports (16h, 16c) are arranged on one of said first or second end portions (20, 29), and at least one outlet port (28, 61a) is arranged on one of said first or second end portions (20, 29). A disk (50) is disposed in the generally cylindrical housing (12) and is configured to independently control both mixing and flow rate of fluid flowing into at least one of the first and second inlet ports (16h, 16c).

A flow control apparatus includes an outer sleeve that extends along an axis and includes an input opening and at least two first flow control openings. Each of the first flow control openings directs a portion of the fluid to an output of the flow control apparatus. An inner sleeve is positioned within the outer sleeve and includes an input opening associated with the input opening of the outer sleeve and at least two second flow control openings. Each of the second flow control openings cooperates with one of the first flow control openings to define a first orifice and a second orifice. The inner sleeve is rotatable relative to the outer sleeve about the axis to simultaneously adjust the cross -sectional area of the first orifice and the cross-sectional area of the second orifice to control fluid flow through the first and second orifices.

Each of the outlet ports (122) may connect to an outlet fluid destination. A port selector (130) rotatably disposed in the valve body (110) includes a rotatable member having a flow path (132) there through that has a path inlet (130) and a path outlet (136). The path outlet has a second flow direction substantially parallel to said first flow direction with an angle of less than 90 degrees to the first flow direction. An offset portion (138) disposed between the first flow direction and the second flow direction has a longitudinal flow direction. An outlet valve line (820) is adapted to connect one of the at least two outlet ports (122) of a first valve of the plurality of valves to the inlet port of another of the plurality of valves.

More specifically, the present invention relates to an antimicrobial insert that is seated within at least a portion of the annular bore of the connector's tap, wherein fluid within the annular bore contacts the antimicrobial insert, thereby preventing microbial proliferation within the stopcock medical connector.
