Abstract:
Display devices and methods for making and driving the display devices. In one example, a device for display includes an array of pixels for display. Each of the pixels includes a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element. The first light emitting element is formed on a substrate. The second light emitting element is formed on the first light emitting element. The first and second light emitting elements share a same electrode.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus provide for producing a remote current for driving a load, comprising: producing a local current, Iref; amplifying the local current Iref by a value of K to produce a local current K Iref; mirroring the local current K Iref to another location; producing a remote current K Iref in response to the mirroring of the local current K Iref; and dividing the remote current K Iref by a matched value of K to produce a remote current Iref for driving the load.
Abstract:
A display apparatus has a plurality of column-current generating circuits for supplying signal currents respectively to the corresponding columns of a plurality of EL devices that are arranged two-dimensionally. Each of the column-current generating circuits includes two or more transistor devices the gates, sources and drains of which are respectively connected in parallel so as to function as a single transistor. The transistor devices are arranged at a pitch equal to or n-times of the alignment period in the row direction of the EL devices and at a constant pitch equal to the alignment period in the column direction of the EL devices.

Abstract:
When power is turned on or off, including a power failure and removal of the power plug, abnormal display and the damage to the display device are prevented. For start-up in particular, the application of driving and modulating signals as well as the accelerating potential to the display panel is suspended for a predetermined time. For shutdown, the application of driving and modulating signals to the display panel is stopped, and power is then turned off.
