A wiring-harness (10) includes a wire cable (12), a connector (14), and a dress cover (22). The connector (14) is attached to a portion of the wire cable (12). The connector (14) has a terminal-face (16) and a wire-cable-face (18) with a body (20) between the terminal-face (16) and the wire-cable-face (18). The dress cover (22) is attached to a portion of the body (20). An extension (24) of the dress-cover overlays the wire-cable-face (18). The extension (24) is configured to guide the wire cable (12) in a predetermined direction. The extension (24) is further configured to be releasably retained by a robotic assembler (30). The dress cover (22) is further configured to transmit an insertion-force (38) from the robotic assembler (30) to the connector (14) when the terminal-face (16) is inserted into a mating-connector (14).

A strain relief boot and a fiber optic cable assembly are described. The strain relief boot has a first conduit made of at least a first material. The first conduit has a front segment and a rear segment. The rear segment includes at least one discontinuity to make the rear segment more flexible than the front segment. The rear segment also includes at least one projection extending outwardly from the rear segment at a location adjacent to the at least one discontinuity. The strain relief boot also has a second conduit made from at least a second material that is less rigid than the first material. The second conduit at least partially surrounds at least the rear segment of the first conduit and extends rearwardly of the first conduit.

A cable assembly for coupling a transducer includes a plug body having a nose section with a nose end, a tail section with a tail end opposite the nose end; and a cable restraining feature disposed proximal the tail end. In addition, the cable assembly includes a cable having a first end, a second end, a signal conductor, and a pliable fixing member. A portion of the pliable fixing member is disposed in the cable restraining feature and extends at least partially around the plug body to limit the movement of the first end of the cable relative to the plug body.

The invention discloses a device and method for connecting conductive wires in a simple and reliable manner without requiring special tools. The device includes a terminal slot into which conductive wires are inserted and clamped; a fastening mechanism fastens all the clamped conductive wires simultaneously.
