Abstract:
A plate (10) supports a venturi (11) within a conduit (20) and divides the fluid flow stream into a first stream which flows through the venturi tube (11) and a second stream which bypasses the venturi tube (11). A variety of adjusting mechanisms are disclosed for varying the cross-sectional area of the bypass flow. The apparatus is adapted to allow the back pressure within the venturi tube (11) to force an increasing proportion of the flow stream to bypass the venturi tube (11) in order to maintain a relatively constant aspiration rate within the venturi tube. The adjustment mechanisms disclosed include a second plate (12), similar to the first plate (10), which is manually rotated and a blocking ring (60) which moves responsive to changes in rate of flow of the fluid flow stream. Helical passages (605) may also be provided at the outlet to promote mixing.
Abstract:
An apparatus for introducing a chemical into a fluid stream comprises a chemical injector (10) adapted to be interposed within the path of the fluid stream flowing from an upstream conduit (12) to a downstream conduit (11). The chemical injector includes primary (20) and secondary (22) channels, substantially parallel to the fluid flow through the upstream conduit and a chemical feed channel (50) having an angled output end.
Abstract:
Device for the supply of a pump with a diphase fluid enabling delivery to the pump of a diphase fluid presenting characteristics, particularly the flow rate and the volumetric ratio between the gaseous phase and the liquid phase, which are compatible with the operating characteristics of the pump. The device comprises a main conduit (10a) and a plurality of auxiliary conduits (10b, ... 10i) arranged parallel to the main conduit, each of said conduits being susceptible of being connected upstream to a diphase fluid supply line and downstream to said pump (6), each of the conduits comprising a flow regulation and insulation valve (11a, ... 11i) at the inlet end and a flow regulation and insulation valve (12a, ... 12i) at the outlet end, each of the conduits comprising additionally means (16a, ... 16i; 17a, ... 17i) for introducing a carrier liquid, particularly water.
Abstract:
An improved chemical dispenser (10) includes a plurality of eductors (18, 20, 22, 24) for drawing chemical into a diluent to produce an effluent, each eductor (18, 20, 22, 24) of the plurality selectively discharging via a baffle tube (32, 34) into a single common discharge tube (30). The effluent flow parameters are insufficient to cause effluent from a selected eductor to flow into a chemical source coupled to a non-selected eductor, and are insufficient to draw chemical from a non-selected eductor into the effluent from a selected eductor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for increasing the pressure or enthalpy of a fluid flowing at supersonic speed, according to which steam is mixed with a liquid, said mixture is accelerated to a supersonic speed and a condensation shock is initiated. Before the condensation shock is initiated additional liquid is introduced into the mixture flowing at supersonic speed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for mixing fluids. It is a hydraulic or pneumatic apparatus, depending on the fluid used for transportation. It is static and has the characteristics of both an extractor and a fluid mixer. Extraction is effected by dragging the suction elements, by means of the circulation of a transporting fluid injected at low pressure. The injection inlets (5 or 6) and suction inlets (6 or 5) are interchangeable and lead to a single outlet (3). The injection tube (1) formed by a helical spiral on the outside surrounded by the sheath (4) increases the pressure in the transporting fluid and creates outward helical movement with centrifugal force in all the fluid that circulates on the outside.
