An arcuate spring having a plurality of coils which are configured and dimensioned to provide an arcuate shape to the spring and being substantially free of internal stresses which would tend to urge the coils into linear alignment. The spring is designed to function under load conditions while maintaining its natural arcuate shape. The spring is can be heated by use of an induction heating process.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Wellfeder (2), die ein im Wesentlichen kreisringförmig gewundenes Federband (4) umfasst, das über den Umfang eine um eine radiale Bezugsebene oszillierende Wellenlinie mit Wellenbergen (6) und mit Wellentälern beschreibt. Die Enden des kreisringförmigen Federbands (4) sind mittels einer Schweißnaht (10) verbunden, die in einem spannungsarmen Bereich der Wellenlinie des Federbands (4) zwischen einem Wellenberg (6) und einem dazu benachbarten Wellental (8) angeordnet ist.

A compression spring assembly can include a compression spring core and a compression spring shell that can be assembled onto the compression spring core. The compression spring core can include a core body with an outer core wall. The compression spring shell can include a shell body having an inner shell wall. The compression spring shell can be supported on the compression spring core such that the inner shell wall extends along at least a portion of the outer core wall. A method of manufacturing a compression spring assembly is also included.

Various arrangements are disclosed based on springs formed from a plurality of individual resilient arms, including a spring having a substantially planar form in an unloaded state and rotational symmetry of at least order two about a symmetry axis perpendicular to the plane of the spring, said spring comprising: an inner hub and an outer hub, said inner hub being radially inward with respect to said outer hub; a plurality of resilient connecting arms each connected at an inner end to said inner hub and at an outer end to said outer hub, said plurality of resilient connecting arms being configured to provide a restoring force parallel to said symmetry axis when said inner and outer hubs are displaced relative to each other along said symmetry axis; wherein said inner hub, said outer hub and each of said plurality of resilient connecting arms are formed as physically separate elements and are connected to each other during assembly to form said spring.

A gas spring and gas damper assembly includes a first end member, a second end member and a flexible wall that at least partially defines a first spring chamber therebetween. A damping chamber wall at least partially defines a damping chamber. A damper piston is received within the damping chamber and is operatively connected between the first and second end members and within the first spring chamber. A suspension system that includes a gas spring and gas damper assembly as well as a method of assembly are also included.

A squeeze-openable device applied near the opening of a sleeve-like bag snaps back upon its release to close the bag and prevent the bag's contents from spilling. The device has opposing strips connected to one another at each end. Each strip has a structure that assists the strips in snapping back to its original position to close the bag. The device can be placed on the outside of the bag or within the bag's throat. The device can have a latch to secure one strip to the other.

Apparatus for producing wire springs comprising: a first working station (1) including a wire support (2) and cutting means (3) adapted to cut the wire against said support, a second working station (5) including a rod (6) about which the wire is wound, and clamping means (10, 11) for securing the wire against an end portion of said rod (6), these means (10, 11) being constituted by two controllable vices (10, 11) arranged in diametrically opposed positions with respect to the axis of said rod (6). In the portion thereof facing said rod (6), these vices (10, 11) are so shaped as to show a respective planar or slightly concave surface towards said rod (6). Wire cutting occurs according to a radial sectioning plane with respect to the support (2) and is arranged so that the spring is cut in a manner that the wire remaining on said support (2) is wound thereabout by a greater angle than 180°.
