A method of reducing stress of a weld in a gas turbine engine involves applying a temper bead weld heat application. A temper bead weld is applied by applying a conformal heat conductive material to a surface of a component having a weld. Heat is then applied to the conformal heat conductive material. The application of the heat tempers and reduces stress of the weld without re-melting of the weld.

The present invention provides a production method for non-oriented electrical steel sheet comprising: a step involving the preparation of a metal sheet material which has a (100) fibre structure comprising penetrating columnar grains, and which is made using iron or an iron-based alloy; a step in which the surface roughness of the said metal sheet material is reduced by cold rolling the said metal sheet material with a rolling reduction of no more than 20%; and a step involving a second heat treatment at a temperature at which the ferrite phase (a) is stable, in order to remove residual stress in the said cold-rolled metal sheet material.
