Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tool for stretching the foil (2) of a foil carrier (1), the foil being connected to a frame (3), which tool comprises a circular inner body (6) and a circular outer body (7), the foil being stretched by supporting the frame with at least one body and moving one body with respect to the other body in axial direction, the inner body extending in the outer body, wherein coupling means (10) are provided, which couples during a rotational movement from one body in relation to the other, and which converts this rotational movement into the required axial movement stretching the foil (2). The invention furthermore also relates to a machine and a method for removing dies from a foil carrier.
Abstract:
An adjustable clamp assembly (600) includes an elongated connection member (640) and a gear assembly (650). The gear assembly includes a rotatable first gear member having an axis of rotation substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the connection member (640). The gear assembly also includes a second gear member cooperatively engaged with the first gear member. The clamp assembly further includes a first clamp member (630). The elongated connection member (640), the gear assembly (650) and the first clamp member (630) are arranged such that rotation of the first gear member results in a linear motion of the first clamp member (630) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connection member (640).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The method includes the step of positioning the device on a sheath (94) having, for each latching tab (7), a portion adapted to be housed between this tab and a cylindrical wall of the device; the step of making the sheath enter between each tab and the cylindrical wall until means preventing the withdrawal of the tabs are released; and the step of moving the two bodies (2, 3) away from each other. The instrument has, in addition to the sheath (94), a guidance slide (77).
Abstract:
The breakdown services have many tasks involving the unlocking of automobile doors. The problem is normally solved by pressing a wedge-shaped element down between the door window and the rubber sealing strip which abuts against the window, whereby access can be gained for the insertion of an unlocking tool without having to remove the sealing strip. However, the downwards insertion of the wedge-shaped element can give rise to damage to the sealing strip. This is avoided with the appliance according to the invention, in that instead of the wedge, use is made of a flat, inflatable pillow element of flexible, distensible material. The flat pillow element is easy to insert downwards, and by a subsequent inflation it will press directly outwards on the sealing list without at the same time scraping against the list.
Abstract:
A tool for removing lagging strips (5) from conveyor belt pulley drums (3) is disclosed. A tool head (30) is driven across the drum (3) against the end of the strip (5), and simultaneously raises the metal clips (7) which retain the lagging strip. Parallel tubular elements (15) guide the tool head (30) across the drum, and a hydraulic cylinder (23) or winch may be used to power the tool head.
Abstract:
In a device (10) for removing a blade (32) from a blade handle (34) of the type having a tang for engaging an opening in the blade for retaining the blade on the handle, two members (62, 64) have upper, blade receiving surfaces (70, 70') are separated to accomodate therebetween the width of the tang but not that of the blade. The surfaces (70, 70') have means (72, 72') for engaging the blade so that when the tang is drawn down between and withdrawn from the members (62, 64), the surfaces (70, 70') and the means (72, 72') pry the blade from the tang. Preferably, a scalpel is used where the blade has a heel (54) for alignment on the handle and the members (64, 64') form a channel between them having a narrow portion for accepting the tang, but not the blade or handle, and a wide portion for accepting the handle to permit the handle to enter the channel sufficiently so that the heel (54) of the blade (32) can engage said means (72, 72').
Abstract:
A hydraulic separation system for use in a gyrational crusher to separate a socket (50) of the crusher from a main shaft (34). The hydraulic separation system includes one or more hydraulic grooves (64,66) formed at the interference contact area between the socket and the main shaft Each hydraulic groove is fed with a supply of pressurized hydraulic fluid to aid in separation of the socket from the main shaft. An inner contact surface (78) of the socket is tapered and engages a tapered outer surface (92) of the main shaft. The mating tapered surfaces further aid in separation of the socket from the main shaft upon application of the pressurized hydraulic fluid.
Abstract:
A hand held brake pad spreader tool for use with a brake calliper (90) of the kind having a sliding calliper body supporting an opposed pair of brake pads arranged to sandwich a brake disc and a piston (92) for clamping the brake pads against the brake disc. The tool comprising a body (20); a handle (22) on the body; an abutment on the body for engaging the calliper body; an elongate member (40) supported by the body for longitudinally sliding movement relative thereto, the elongate member having a piston engagement means (50) for engaging the piston; a manually actuable moveable member (30) supported on the body adjacent to the handle; and drive means (60) coupled between the moveable member (30) for moving the elongate member (40) longitudinally from a first retracted position to a second driving position in which the piston engagement means is in driving engagement with the piston when the abutment is in engagement with the calliper body to move the piston to spread the brake pads apart. At least a portion of the elongate member in driving engagement with the piston is mounted in the body for free rotation both clockwise and anticlockwise. The tool further comprises means for rotating the portion of the elongate member.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for stringing aerial cables through tower structures using aircraft without requirement that a person be present on the tower while the aircraft is performing the stringing operation are described An elongated needle-like threading member to which a sock line is attached and having spaced-apart projections emanating therefrom at different directions around the threading member, is directed by the aircraft pilot through a block having a pulley suspended an insulator of other tower structure, the projections in cooperation with a frame member attached to the block and facing toward the incoming threading member, preventing threading member from being pulled rearwardly under tension from the sock line A grappling hook or other holding device adapted for holding and releasing the threading member and attached to an aircraft haul line, permits the threading member to be hauled forward through the block.
