Abstract: A cutting assembly in which an inner tube is rotatably disposed within an outer tube and defines as aspiration path. The inner tube may include segments, and the segments may define a flexible region associated with a bend of the outer tube. The outer tube may define irrigation channels, and further define irrigation apertures positioned proximal to a cutting window or distal to the flexible region. The irrigation channels fluidly separate the aspiration lumen from an irrigation path so as to prevent ingress of irrigation fluid into the aspiration lumen through slots defined by the segments. An inner jacket may be coaxially disposed within the inner tube and configured to provide a seal between the aspiration path and the irrigation path. A distal end of the inner jacket may be disposed in a counterbore, and the proximal end of the inner jacket may be proximal to the inner tube.

The surgical device (20) further includes a tissue-removal assembly (62) coupled to the second end of the shaft (61). The tissue-removal assembly (62) includes a first cutting member (37) having a plurality of rotatable blades (37A, 37B, 37C). The first cutting member (37) is coupled to a second end of the shaft (61). The tissue-removal assembly (62) further includes a second cutting member (36), one or more support elements (67) slidably or fixedly coupled to the second cutting member (36), and one or more extendable elements (66) slidably or fixedly coupled to the second cutting member (36).

Abstract: The invention relates to a cardiac lead extraction system, comprising: a handle; an elongated body in communication with said handle; a bendable flexible portion in communication with said elongated body, said bendable flexible portion comprising a first lumen sized and shaped to fit over a cardiac lead; said bendable flexible portion being more flexible than said elongated body; an operational distal end in communication with said bendable flexible portion; where said bendable portion is configured to bend to a bending radius of less than 4cm while keeping said first lumen open; and where said operational distal end cf omprises at least one lead extraction assistive tool, said operational distal end comprising a second lumen sized and shaped to fit over a cardiac lead, said second lumen being in communication with said first lumen, and said first lumen comprises an inner diameter of from about 1mm to about 5mm.
