Abstract: A wheelchair may include a frame, a wheel, an armrest, a latch, and an elongate release. The wheel may be rotatably coupled to the frame. The latch may be pivotably coupled to a proximal end of the armrest. The latch may be moveable from a latched configuration where a latch lip engages the frame to an unlatched configuration where the latch lip is disengaged from the frame. The armrest may be fixed relative to the frame when the latch is in the latched configuration and pivotable relative to the frame when the latch is in the unlatched configuration. The elongate release may extend between the latch and a distal end of the armrest body. The elongate release may cooperate with alignment guides and the latch to slide between the latched configuration and the unlatched configuration.

Abstract: An assistive walking device can include a frame, a seat member, a plurality of wheels coupled to the frame, a motor coupled to at least one of the wheels, a harness that is configured to be placed around a user, and an actuator for raising or lowering the user relative to the ground. The assistive walking device can be configured to operate in two modes of operation. In the first mode, the user sits on the seat member and controls the motors powering the device, and the device transports the user from one location to another while the user sits on the seat member. In the second mode, the user is in an upright position and is supported by the harness. The user can then walk while being at least partially supported by the device, and the device moves along with the user via the motor-powered wheels.

Abstract: A lifting mechanism has a base to which a pivot of a parallelogram structure. A spring extends from a first link of the parallelogram to an adjustable termination point on a second link of the parallelogram to form a lifting triangle. The spring termination point is displaced from a main pivot of the parallelogram to create an adjustable "lever arm" to vary the lifting force. A lifting power adjustment mechanism adjusts the position of the spring termination point. An extension is in fixed relation to one of the parallelogram links and maintains its angle with respect to the horizontal when angles of the parallelogram are varied upon raising or lowering the lifting mechanism between a sitting mode and a standing mode. The extension serves as a base for a rear seat section. A front seat section is pivotally attached to the rear seat section allowing it to swing downward upon elevation of the liftin mechanism.

Abstract: A shower assistive apparatus includes a seat base, a plurality of legs extending from the seat base, and a backrest pivotably mounted to the seat base. The plurality of legs, arm rests and the backrest are height adjustable, ergonomically shaped and foldable with respect to the seat base. Each foot is rotatably coupled to a corresponding leg, allowing different rotational positions for the foot, and greater support area for the apparatus. Each foot also includes an extended tip portion that, when the foot is coupled to the corresponding leg, extends beyond a perimeter of the seat base. The seat base, backrest and arm rests include a plurality of openings and channels formed on the carved surfaces, to allow water drainage.
