The present invention includes composition and methods for making and using a selenium-carrier conjugate for in vivo administration comprising: covalently attaching a selenium compound that reacts in vivo with naturally occurring reduced thiols and oxygen to produce superoxide, which can include a Fenton Complex that allows for a generation of hydroxyl radicals, and that wherein the selenium-carrier conjugate is stabilized against enzymatic degradation and clearance from the body and the synthetic targeting carrier binds target.

A silicate-based glass composition includes 15-65 wt.% SiO2, 2.5-25 wt.% MgO, 1-30 wt.% P2O5, and 15-50 wt.% CaO. The glass composition may also include 0-5 wt.% F-, and 0-10 wt.% ZrO2. The glass composition may also include one of 0-10 wt.% Al2O3, 0-10 wt.% SrO, and 0-10 wt.% ZnO.

A composition comprising nanoparticles, a method for the preparation of a composition comprising nanoparticles and uses of the composition for dental treatment are provided. Each nanoparticle is made of polymeric material and includes an antimicrobial agent encapsulated therein. The polymeric material can include Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), or other polymers such as Polylactic (PLA), Polyglycolic (PGA), or Polycaprolactone (PCL). The active molecule is calcium hydroxide in the range of 0.1 to 5 mg/ml. The composition has a pH in the range of 8 – 13.

Изобретение относится к медицине и может быть использовано для уменьшения негативного влияния авиаперелетов на здоровье человека. Способ включает прием препаратов, повышающих осмолярность плазмы крови. Принимают внутрь водный раствор для пероральной регидратации, разделенный на два приема. Первый прием - в количестве не менее 0,3 л. до 1 л. перед посадкой в самолет, и далее в самолете - в интервале от получаса до 2-х часов не менее 0,3 л. до 1 л. и по мере возникновения жажды. Дополнительно за 20-30 минут перед полетом принимают разовую дозу антикоагулянта, а также пробиотики и пеногасители. Способ позволяет синергетически уменьшить негативное влияние перелета на здоровье человека, избежать состояния джетлага, отеков ног, болей в животе.

Способ обеспечивает эффективное, безопасное лечение воспалительных заболеваний полости рта за счет фотодинамической терапии полости рта и нанесения стоматологического геля-фотосенсибилизатора на обрабатываемые участки.

A process for removing Co 2+ , Pb 2+ , Cd 2+ and Cr 3+ toxins from bodily fluids is disclosed. The process involves contacting the bodily fluid with an ion exchange composition to remove the metal toxins in the bodily fluid, including blood and gastrointestinal fluid. Alternatively, blood can be contacted with a dialysis solution which is then contacted with the ion exchange composition. The ion exchange compositions are represented by the following empirical formula: A m Zr a Ti b Sn c M d Si x O y . A composition comprising the above ion exchange compositions in combination with bodily fluids or dialysis solution is also disclosed. The ion exchange compositions may be supported by porous networks of biocompatible polymers such as carbohydrates or proteins.

Described herein are compositions and methods that, in some embodiments, are specifically configured to treat different types of constipation. In particular, described herein are compositions and methods for treating IBS-C, opioid induced constipation, and chronic idiopathic constipation. In addition to treating the symptom of constipation, these embodiments of the compositions and methods described herein are configured to address specific etiologies and/or pathophysiologies associated with the constipation types of IBS-C, opioid induced constipation, and chronic idiopathic constipation.

The present invention provides a method for preparing a multifunctional natural gel by using mineral-based somatids extracted from a naturally produced mineral, comprising: (a) a powder reheating step of reheating mineral-based somatids at a predetermined high temperature in order to culture mineral-based somatids in the mineral-based somatids; (b) a mineral-based somatids separation step of mixing the mineral-based somatids heated in step (a) and water or distilled water in a predetermined ratio, and separating mineral-based somatids from the mineral-based somatids separated into an upper layer part, a middle layer part and a lower layer part through a stirrer and a centrifuge; and (c) a naturel gel preparation step of evaporating water or distilled water by heating the middle layer part separated in step (b) at a predetermined temperature, extracting only the remaining pure mineral-based somatid, and then preparing a gel-type natural gel from the extracted pure mineral-based somatid.
