Abstract:
A device for shock-absorbing when making movements comprises an envelope (1) and an elastic base (2) contained in the envelope and consisting of two superposed layers (3 and 4) provided on their contacting surfaces with protrusions (5). The layers (3 and 4) are mutually superposed so that the protrusions (5) of one layer are located in the hollows (6) between the protrusions (5) of the other layer and are provided with air chambers (7) located between the points (5) of the protrusions and the bases (9) of the hollows (6) of the layers (3 and 4). Each air chamber (7) is connected by means of through channels (12, 13) to the gaps between the envelope (1) and the layers (3 and 4).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a sports mat, especially a judo mat, of an elastic foam-like material (4) and possibly a sheath (7). According to the invention, the elastic foam-like material (4) is arranged on a stiff, approximately circular plate (3) which has a central projection (5) on the underside and is fitted so as to ''float'' on a yielding foam (6).
Abstract:
A sunken pit device for catching trainee gymnasts performing acrobatic exercises on gymnastics apparatuses placed above or on the edge of the pit, is described. The upper portion of the device consists of a close-meshed and knot-free net (1) stretched over the floor and held by elastic cords (2) and stage screws (3) embedded in a bevelled concrete quoin (4). A flexible foam (7) is placed directly on top of the net above the central portion of the pit while the peripheral portion is covered with a harder foam (8). The whole is covered with a flexible fireproof fabric (11) which is pulled taut and pinned down around the edge of the pit by a male section (12) engaging a female section (10).
