摘要: An incubator for cell and tissue culture under controlled atmospheric conditions has a primary air flow control device that forms a primary, preferably laminar flow, air veil across an opening that allows access to the cells or tissue cultures disposed within the incubator. Preferably, most if not all of the air in the primary (laminar flow) air veil is recirculated, and a secondary air flow control device is used that forms a secondary, preferably laminar flow, air veil between the primary (laminar flow) air veil and a user of the incubator.

摘要: Air purification devices include an air inlet and outlet, upstream and downstream sections in air flow communication with the air inlet and outlet and a filter removably positioned between the upstream and downstream sections to filter at least pathogens from air being passed through the filter. One or more ultraviolet (UV) illuminating sources may be positioned in at least the upstream section proximate the filter to illuminate at least an upstream surface of the filter with sufficient UV radiation to kill viable pathogens that accumulate on the filter. One or more ozone generating sources may be positioned to generate ozone in sufficient concentrations to kill viable pathogens proximate the device. The UV illuminating sources and ozone generating sources may be positioned to provide a predetermined pressure drop across the sources and air flow pattern proximate the filter, and enable the filter to be removed without handling the sources.

摘要: A method of operating a cleaning process on a filter in a vehicle air intake, comprises passing air through the filter from an upstream side to a downstream side, and providing an exhaust duct having an inlet end adjacent the upstream side of the filter and an outlet end adjacent a cooling fan of the vehicle arranged to draw air through the exhaust duct from the inlet end to the outlet end. In a periodic cleaning subroutine, the rotational speed of the cooling fan is increased (110) from a first speed to a second speed, whilst a pulse of pressurised fluid is applied (112, 116) to a downstream side of the filter, and the exhaust duct carries away (114, 118) material dislodged from the upstream side of the filter by the applied pulse, before the rotational speed of the fan is reduced (120) to its original level. The fan may be replaced by alternative devices for drawing air through the exhaust duct.

The dust extractor also comprises a mobility section (66) comprising wheels and a blower/fan motor (10) for drawing air from the air inlet (2) through the dust extractor. The dust cyclone container (3) has a center axis (48) along its longitudinal extension, and the fine filter part (15) is provided at a radial distance from the dust cyclone container (3) along a plane (P) perpendicular to the center axis (48) of the dust cyclone container (3), the plane (P) coinciding with the dust cyclone container (3) and a portion of the fine filter part (15). The blower/fan motor (10) is adapted to be powered at least partly by at least one onboard battery (61 ), and preferably two batteries (61 ), wherein the at least one battery (61 ) is arranged to be received in at least one battery slot (62) provided in the fine filter section (12) or in the mobility section (66).

The apparatus includes an air filter disposed in the airflow path for removing particulates and pathogens and passes the intake air through either or both of an activated carbon filter and a catalyst to convert the oxidant into oxygen.
