    摘要: An apparatus and method for extracting nitrogen including compounds from wastewater is disclosed herein. The methods and apparatus use molecularly designed selective electrocatalysts, electrolytes, and separation reactors to enable automated, distributed ammonia manufacturing with minimal environmental impacts. In some embodiments, a method of nitrogen reduction of wastewater is provided. The method includes: providing an apparatus including: a first chamber comprising a salt solution; a second chamber comprising a wastewater source; a third chamber comprising a salt solution and a third electrode, wherein the second chamber is positioned between the first chamber and the third chamber; an anion exchange membrane positioned between the first chamber and the second chamber; and a cation exchange membrane positioned between the second chamber and the third chamber; applying a potential bias between any two of the first chamber, the second chamber, and the third chamber.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a flue gas treatment system (e.g. a multi-pollutant flue gas treatment system) for removal of greenhouse gases such as SO 2 , NO, NO 2 , H 2 S, HCl, water and CO 2 as well as heavy metals (e.g. mercury, arsenic, bismuth, cadmium, lead and/or selenium) from the flue gases of fossil-fueled utility and industrial plants by reacting the raw flue gas, firstly, with chlorine in a gas-phase oxidation reaction and recovering the resulting products as marketable products, and then, secondly, treating the cleaned gas, which includes CO 2 , with a Sabatier reaction to produce a hydrocarbon fuel (e.g. methane). The system also includes an electrolytic unit for electrolyzing HCl to produce hydrogen gas for the Sabatier reaction as well as chlorine gas, which may then be recycled into the reactor.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a process for removing gas phase nitrogen-based compounds by absorption into a liquid stream. The absorbed nitrogen-based compound is reacted with an acid to produce a nitrogen-based product. The nitrogen-based compound, the acid, and the resulting nitrogen-based product may be organic compounds, i.e. compounds derived from animal matter or plant matter. The nitrogen-based product may be a fertilizer, such as ammonium acetate or ammonium citrate that may be certified as organic. Processes are also described for removing nitrogen-based compounds from a liquid stream to produce a nitrogen-based product, including organic fertilizers. One process includes producing cavitation bubbles into which a liquid phase nitrogen-based compound is stripped, followed by absorption to produce a nitrogen-based product. Another process includes the use of a degassing membrane to remove a liquid phase nitrogen-based compound that is degassed to produce a nitrogen-based product, including organic fertilizers.

    摘要: The invention concerns a process for the removal of ΝΟχ from gaseous effluents generated in the production of fertilizer. The composition of the ΝΟχ in this gaseous effluent is rich in NO 2 . The process comprises the steps of treating the gaseous effluent with ozone and oxidizing NO and NO 2 present in the ΝΟχ to higher nitrogen oxides, and, passing the resultant gas mixture through a wet scrubber and removing the higher nitrogen oxides.
