Further, a cell controller (11) analyzes the unit machining schedule and predicts the occurrence of the full load state of the collection pallet, and while referring to the estimation result, orders a collection pallet for replacement which is suitable for the works to be collected next to move from an automated warehouse and to wait.

Each facility status analyzing section analyzes the present condition of each machine facility from the present working condition of each machine facility transferred from a plurality of terminals. A schedule allocating section reads the analyzed results of each machine facility analyzing section and, when the analyzed results of one analyzing section indicate that the corresponding machine facility is in an overload state, retrieves a substitutional machine which can handle the schedule transferred to the overloaded machine from a schedule file, and allocates the schedule to the substitutional machine. When the schedule is distributed or allocated to the substitutional machine, a working program converting section discriminates whether or not the working program corresponding to the overloaded or troubled machine facility is suitable for the substitutional machine and, when the working program is not suitable for the substitutional machine, converts the program into a suitable working program. A working program transferring section transfers the converted working program to the substitutional machine.

The semiconductor manufacturing apparatus comprises a multichamber processing system (4), an object conveying system (8), and a device control system (210) including a storage (214) for storing therein apparatus operating condition parameters and supplying the apparatus operating condition parameters to machine control units (150, 72), which control the processing system (4) and the conveying system (8) according to the apparatus operating condition parameters. The device control system (210) stores the apparatus operating condition parameters for each of the prioritized levels from a standard level inherent to the apparatus to a special level inherent to the user in the storage (214) and develops the apparatus operating condition parameters stored in the storage in memories (102) of the machine control units (150, 72) in order of priority.

An automatic machining scheduling method which allocates the work to the individual machine tools in a large-scale production system based on the expert's experience in the form of data base in an optimum and simple manner, in order to properly operate the production system. As the production request quantities are input (S1) for the models of products, the machining times of the jigs related to the models and the mode of operating the jigs are read out from the associated files of the two, and are then multiplied by each other to calculate total machining times in each of the machine tools (S2, S3). A production matrix per day or week is prepared (S4 to S7) according to the ratio of the calculated time to a working time per day of each of the machine tools, and it is determined (S10, S11) whether a machining schedule related to the pattern same as the machining pattern in the above matrix has been registered in a machining instruction file or not. The machining schedule is utilized when it is in the above file (S12 to S15).
