Abstract: Provided is a method of recycling an additively manufactured object into a reusable thermoplastic polymer, which method in some embodiments may include: (a) providing at least one additively manufactured object produced by stereolithography from a dual cure resin, the object comprising (i) a light polymerized polymer, and (ii) a heat polymerized polymer intermixed with said light polymerized polymer; (b) comminuting the object to produce a particulate material therefrom; (c) contacting the particulate material to a polar, aprotic solvent for a time and at a temperature sufficient to extract the heat polymerized polymer from the particulate material into said solvent, leaving residual particulate material comprising said light polymerized polymer in solid form; (d) separating the residual particulate material from said solvent; and then (e) separating the heat polymerized polymer from said solvent to provide a reusable thermoplastic polymer material in solid form.

The module for the treatment of organic waste (2) comprises means (6) for feeding water into the shredding chamber (4a, 4b) and discharge means (10) for discharging the water/shredded organic waste mixture from said shredding chamber (4a, 4b). The module for the treatment of inorganic waste (3', 3'') comprises a collection drawer (7', 7'') for the shredded inorganic waste, downstream of the shredding chamber (4', 4'').

Abstract: A process for separating and recovering at least one polymer component from a melt of a multiple number of polymer components including the steps of: (A) shearing a multi-polymer component melt in the presence of a pressurized aqueous solution; wherein the multi-polymer component melt comprises a blend of at least a first polymer component and at least a second polymer component; wherein the multi-polymer component melt has at least two melting temperatures, at least two glass transition temperatures or combinations thereof; wherein the pressurized aqueous solution comprises an aqueous liquid mixture of: (i) water, and (ii) at least one dispersing agent; wherein the shearing of the multi-polymer component melt in contact with the pressurized aqueous solution forms a dispersion, particles, or strands of the at least one first polymer component having an enriched first polymer component concentration; and (B) after the shearing of step (A), isolating the at least first polymer component from the other polymer components of the multi-polymer component melt by separating the dispersion, particles, or strands of the at least one first polymer component having an enriched first polymer component concentration from the water, the at least one dispersing agent, the at least second polymer component, and any remaining thermoplastic polymer resins present in the mixture of the multi-polymer component melt in the pressurized aqueous solution.

Abstract: A method of separating and purifying a mixed stream of contaminated reclaimed polyethylene and contaminated reclaimed polypropylene is provided. The method comprises the steps of extraction, dissolution, settling, purification, and solvent separation to produce separate streams of purified recycled polyethylene and purified recycled polypropylene. Both separate streams are produced in the same production plant operating in swing mode, and have virgin-like optical properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous method for removing a solvent from a suspension or solution comprising a target polymer, wherein the method comprises the steps of delivering said suspension or solution to an extruder, wherein said extruder comprises a size classification unit that is designed to be permeable for the solvent and impermeable for the target polymer; and filtration and extrusion of said suspension or solution in said extruder. The invention also relates to a plastic waste recycling system for recycling a target polymer. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a polymer material obtained by this recycling method.
