摘要: A method for purifying a reclaimed polypropylene is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method involves obtaining reclaimed polypropylene, contacting the reclaimed polypropylene with a first fluid solvent to produce an extracted reclaimed polypropylene; then dissolving the extracted reclaimed polypropylene in a solvent to produce a first solution comprising polypropylene. The first solution is settled and then filtered. A purer polypropylene is separated from the resulting solution.

摘要: An article is disclosed that comprises at least about 95 weight percent reclaimed isotactic polypropylene base resin. The base resin comprises less than about 10 ppm Al, less than about 5 ppm Ti, and less than about 5 ppm Zn. The article is substantially free of odor and the base resin has a contrast ratio opacity of less than about 15%.

摘要: A method for purifying a reclaimed polymer, such as a polymer reclaimed from post-consumer use or post-industrial use, is disclosed. The method involves obtaining the reclaimed polymer and dissolving it in a solvent at an elevated temperature and pressure to produce a polymer solution, which is purified at an elevated temperature and pressure by contacting the polymer solution with solid media to produce a purer polymer solution. A purer polymer is then separated from the purer polymer solution.

摘要: A method for separating and purifying polymers of a reclaimed product (rP) is disclosed. The rP is contacted at an elevated temperature and pressure, with an extraction solvent to produce an extracted rP (erP). A solvent, at conditions sufficient to solubilize the first polymer, contacts the erP to produce a solution, which is purified at an elevated temperature and pressure by filtering it and contacting it with a solid medium to produce a purified solution of the first polymer. The purified polymer is then separated from the purified solution, and the method steps are repeated until all polymers are separated and purified.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of injection molding at low, substantially constant melt pressures. Embodiments of the disclosed method now make possible a method of injection molding that is more energy-and cost-effective than conventional high-velocity injection molding processes. Embodiments of the disclosed method surprisingly allow for the filling of a mold cavity at low melt pressure without undesirable premature hardening of the thermoplastic material in the mold cavity and without the need for maintaining a constant temperature or heated mold cavity. Heretofore, it would not have been expected that a constant pressure method could be performed at low pressure without such premature hardening of the thermoplastic material when using an unheated mold cavity or cooled mold cavity.
