摘要: This invention provides a flame retardant additive composition which comprises at least one glow suppressant and at least one brominated flame retardant. The glow suppressant is about 0.5 wt% or more of the flame retardant additive composition, based on the total weight of the flame retardant additive composition. The brominated flame retardant contains aromatically-bound bromine and is selected from a) a brominated anionic styrenic polymer having a number average molecular weight of about 750 to about 7500, and/or a bromine content of about 60 wt% to about 77 wt%, b) a brominated anionic chain transfer vinyl aromatic polymer which contains about 70 wt% or more bromine, or a mixture of any two or more of these. Also provided are flame retarded polyolefin compositions that contain at least one glow suppressant and a brominated flame retardant.

摘要: A thermoplastic polymer composition comprises a polyethylene polymer composition and a salt of bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. The polyethylene polymer composition can have a Melt Relaxation Index of 2 or greater. A method for molding a thermoplastic polymer composition comprises the steps of (a) providing an apparatus comprising a die with an annular orifice, a means for blowing pressurized fluid into a tube exiting the die orifice, and a means for drawing and collecting the tube; (b) providing the thermoplastic polymer composition described above; (c) heating the thermoplastic polymer composition to melt the thermoplastic polymer composition; (d) extruding the molten thermoplastic polymer composition through the die to form a tube; (e) blowing a pressurized fluid into the tube to inflate the tube while simultaneously drawing it; (f) allowing the film to cool; and (g) collecting the film.

摘要: A copolymer composition including a method having a first step involving submerging of LDPE into a heptane bath and heating the heptane bath until the LDPE dissolves into the heptane bath resulting in a water-like solution. A second step including precipitating of the water-like solution forming a PE wax within the water-like solution. A third step involving filtering and distilling of the water-like solution separating the PE wax from the heptane bath. A fourth step involving dispersing of the PE wax in a liquid carrier resulting in a combination. A fifth step involving polymerizing of the PE wax into LDPE by introducing the combination into PVA during an extrusion process resulting in a homogeneous mixture. A sixth step, programming the water solubility of the homogeneous mixture. Resulting in the copolymer composition having programmable water solubility, shelf-life stability and quality in the presence of moisture for a predetermined length of time.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to polyethylene blends, films thereof, and methods thereof. In at least one embodiment, a polymer blend includes a first polyethylene having a density of about 0.94 g/cm3 to about 0.97 g/cm3 and a melt index of about 0.1 g/10min to about 10 g/10min. The blend includes a second polyethylene comprising at least 80 wt% ethylene derived-units. The second polyethylene has a density of about 0.918 g/cm3 to about 0.945 g/cm3, a number average molecular weight (Mn) of about 10,000 g/mol to about 20,000 g/mol, a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of about 75,000 g/mol to about 300,000 g/mol, a melt index (2.16 kg) of about 0.1 g/10min to about 5 g/10min, a high load melt index (21.6 kg) of about 25 g/10min to about 80 g/10min, and a melt index ratio of about 10 to about 50.

摘要: A method of separating and purifying a mixed stream of contaminated reclaimed polyethylene and contaminated reclaimed polypropylene is provided. The method comprises the steps of extraction, dissolution, settling, purification, and solvent separation to produce separate streams of purified recycled polyethylene and purified recycled polypropylene. Both separate streams are produced in the same production plant operating in swing mode, and have virgin-like optical properties.
