Abstract:
The invention provides a multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50) for supporting a hatch cover (8) on a coaming structure (10) of a ship (2). The multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50) comprises an outer wear surface (54) for sliding against a mating surface (14) provided on the hatch cover (8) or the coaming structure (10), a wear layer (52) comprising first and second opposite sides (54, 56), the first side defining the outer wear surface (54), the wear layer -{32} comprising a first plastic material and, a base layer (58) comprising third and fourth opposite sides (80, 82), the third side (60) being joined to the second side; (56). The base layer (58): comprises a second polymer material which is less abrasion resistant than the first plastic material. By making the base layer (58), which in practice makes up the main part of the multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50), out of the second polymer mate- rial, the cost of the multi-layer hatch cover support pad (SO) is decreased. The multi-layer Hatch cover support pad may (50) further comprise an interna! wear indicator body (80) for indicating wear of the wear layer (52) and/or an identification unit (110) for identifying: the multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50), A method cf producing the multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50), as well as a use of the multi-layer hatch cover support pad (50), is also provided.
Abstract:
A water-tight or air-tight accessible compartment has a removable hatch sealed at the edge with elastically conformable opposing seals, with elongate communication elements extending into the compartment between the opposing seals, seals conforming to the topology formed between the compartment edge and the elongate communication elements.
Abstract:
The subject of this inventive patent is a porthole (opening device which allows the circulation of air and light, placed on the roof of a caravan/campervan and other vehicles or on the deck of boats). This porthole, unlike the others that exist (that are of the type with scissors stay opening or of the type with pantograph opening) consists of a fixed portion and of a portion rotating on an spindle perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the bearing base; this feature makes it practical and functional; specifically, the rotating top portion may be rotated on the spindle without any discontinuity while allowing the inlet/outlet of air and light according to the actual direction of rotation. As can be seen from drawing 1, the rotating porthole is formed essentially by a fixed peripheral structure (1) capable of being attached fixedly and firmly to the structure of the roof and/or deck, by a coaxial rotating structure (2) which, thanks to an operating device (3) may be rotated on the spindle (4), by a cover (5) which may be raised or lowered by operating the device (6) or another similar control in order to lower/raise the cover itself.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A novel hatch and with cover for boats comprising: a hatch, a hatch cover with handle hinged to said hatch, and cooperating means on the hatch and cover including cam surfaces whereby the said handle can be rotated to secure the cover to the hatch.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a protective device for storage rooms or cargo holds (10), especially on ships (11). It comprises a flexible cover (5) arranged on the coaming (7) of the hold and has an opening (4) for the introduction and connection of a loading/unloading device (8). The protective device comprises a main frame (9) with cover parts (5a, 5b) and a transverse frame (2) is mounted within the main frame (9) between the cover parts (5a, 5b); the transverse frame (2) can be moved in a longitudinal direction (a, b) along the main frame (9) towards the respective transverse ends of the main frame (9). Within the frame (2), between cover parts (6c, 6d), there is a frame (3) in which the opening (4) can be moved within the frame (2) transversely to the longitudinal direction of the main frame (9). One end of each of the cover parts (5a, 5b) is fastened to the frame (2) and at the other respective ends to rollers (A, B) arranged at one of the transverse ends of the main frame (9). Cover parts (6c, 6d) are fastened at their respective ends to frame (3) and at the other respective ends to rollers (C, D), arranged at one of the transverse ends of the frame (2) by the main frame (9). Cover parts (5a, 5b) can be moved onto and off the respective rollers (A, B) and cover parts (6c, 6d) can be moved in a transverse direction to the main frame (9) onto and off the respective rollers (C, D) independently of the movement of cover parts (5a, 5b).
Abstract:
The ventilated marine hatch cover (10) has a well (11) constructed therein and a ventilator (10A) located in the well. The ventilator has an upstanding coaming (14), a cowl (15) associated with the coaming and moveable between a raised ventilating position and a closed position in which the cowl overlies the coaming, means (17-23) to return the cowl in the raised position and quick release means (24) associated with said retaining means whereby the retaining means can be quickly disengaged to permit the cowl to fall by gravity to the closed position, all of said means and the cowl, when in the closed position, being level with or below the level of the hatch cover (10) within the well (11) thereof.
