Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method for providing a non-uniform barrier coating on a hollow container (100) comprising molded pulp. The method comprises depositing a polymeric powder on the interior container surface in at least one predetermined portion (105a-d) of the hollow container and subsequently treating the container with heat or irradiation. The present disclosure also relates to a hollow container (100) comprising a non-uniform polymeric powder coating.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus (100) and method for dry manufacturing rigid cellulose products having essentially non-flat general shape. The apparatus (100) is characterized in that the outer surface of the forming drum (15) comprises a first area having a first perforation density and a second area having a second perforation density that is less than said first perforation density for forming a continuous or discontinuous cellulose blank (13) having higher grammage at first locations originating from said first area than at second locations originating from said second area.

Abstract: A glass container that includes a base defining a hole, and methods of manufacturing and using the glass container, is disclosed. The glass container is manufactured by providing the container and cutting a hole in a wall of the container. The hole may be cut into the wall by any technique in which glass material is separated from the wall including by mechanical shearing, thermal energy, and/or fluid impingement. To use the glass container, a deformable blow-out plug may be inserted into the hole to fluidly seal the hole, a liquid beverage may be introduced into the container, a closure may be coupled to the container to close the container and provide a pressurizable package, and thereafter the package may be internally pressurized by introducing a pressurizing gas into the package.

Abstract: A presente invenção revela confinamentos de recolha adaptados para recolha e preservação de substâncias edíveis durante um período de tempo mínimo requerido para conservação das mesmas, em particular substâncias edíveis aromáticas, como por exemplo substâncias associadas a café ou contendo cafeína, sendo que os referidos confinamentos são produzidos em materiais compósitos que proporcionam barreira à transferência de líquidos e gases e apresentam composições que incluem polímeros sintéticos e/ou bio-polímeros, bem como ainda fibra vegetal associada a pelo menos um subproduto de processamento do vegetal edível com afinidade àquele a ser recolhido nos referidos confinamentos, como por exemplo fibra de cascarilha resultante da torrefação de grãos de café, desse modo proporcionando um novo aproveitamento económico de tais subprodutos, e confinamentos com elevado grau de bio-degradação aquando da eliminação dos mesmos.
