The invention relates to an apparatus (100) and method for dry manufacturing rigid cellulose products having essentially non-flat general shape. The apparatus (100) comprises a disintegrating unit (3), a cellulose blank forming unit (30) and a product forming unit (40) for producing rigid cellulose products (14). The cellulose blank forming unit (30) comprising a dispenser for guiding a cellulose fibre carrying air flow from the disintegrating unit (3), a forming drum (15) having an outer surface comprising perforations, wherein the outer surface is configured for receiving cellulose fibres and for forming a cellulose blank (13), an air removing device (54) arranged inside the forming drum (15), and a support structure (8) for receiving the cellulose blank (13) from said forming drum (15). The apparatus (100) is characterized in that the outer surface of the forming drum (15) comprises a first area having a first perforation density and a second area having a second perforation density that is less than said first perforation density for forming a continuous or discontinuous cellulose blank (13) having higher grammage at first locations originating from said first area than at second locations originating from said second area.

A method of fabricating a cork composite material and a cork composite material. The method may comprise providing a plurality of cork particles in a volume and adding a dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer to the volume to provide a mixture of the dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles. The method may comprise agitating the cork particles and/or the mixture of the dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles and heating the mixture of the thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles. The method may comprise allowing the mixture of the thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles to cool. The steps of the method together may result in a plurality of coated cork particles being coated in a first layer of the thermoplastic elastomer.

A fiberboard panel is formed from at least one corrugated sheet of molded cellulose fiber material having alternating ribs and grooves. Spaced slits are cut through the ribs on one face of the sheet and terminate short of the opposite face so as to form at least one slotted portion of more flexibility which may be bent to form a curve. The corrugated sheet is sandwiched between two flat sheets of the same material to form a composite panel. The corrugated sheet or panel is formed by a wet processing method including successive cold and hot press steps in which a wet mat is pressed between an opposing perforated platen and non-perforated, elastomeric material platen of cross-sectional shape substantially matching the desired panel shape and dimensions.

A molded skirting board, crown molding, or other decorative moldings simulating natural wood millwork, and a method of molding a loose cellulosic mat, in a single pressing step, to provide one or more relatively high density, skirting boards without requiring preliminary pressing, or other preshaping step, such as scalping. The molded articles are molded in a conventional, multi-opening fiberboard press to produce multiple, interconnected parts in a single pressing step process, while achieving excellent transfer of mold detail (embossing fidelity) without visually noticeable fiber fracture. A corrugated or L-shaped, hidden stiffening/positioning member spaces the article from a wall or ceiling to simulate thick, heavier, natural wood millwork.

The present invention relates to a moulding mixture, for manufacturing moulded products. The moulding mixture including: (i) 40 to 60 wt % plant fibre pieces and optionally combined with added starch; pand (ii) 10 to 55 wt % water and 3 to 10 wt % one or more water-soluble binding agents or adhesives; The amount of starch added in between 0 and 10 wt preferably 0 to 2 wt % or 2 to 10 wt %.

A composition for manufacturing a formed article which comprises starch, a pulverized plant fiber or an organic fertilizer obtained by treating garbage as a main material, characterized in that the composition is produced by a method comprising mixing the main material with wheat flour and a binder and kneading the resultant mixture homogeneously; and a formed article manufactured from the composition. The composition can be used for manufacturing, without the use of a synthetic resin, a formed article which has a capability of being formed similar to that of a formed article from a synthetic resin and also can be decomposed by a microbe or an ultraviolet ray.

An embossed, decorative, man-made embossed article having an embossed surface portion containing at least about 80 % by weight cellulosic fibers and sufficient binder to adhere the cellulosic fibers together into a structurally sound article having a specific gravity in the range of 0.96 to 1.08, a surface of said article having a pattern of embossed ticks stained to visually distinguish the embossed ticks from surrounding surface portions of said article, said embossed ticks formed in elongated bundles to replicate a wood grain pattern of 0.050 to 0.280 inch.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing cork articles, which comprises the step of treating cork fragments with a phenol oxidising enzyme and subsequently pressing the treated cork fragments into the desired shape. The present invention also relates to a process for conglutinating cork fragments, which comprises treating the cork fragments with a phenol oxidising enzyme. Preferred phenol oxidising enzymes are laccase, peroxidase, catechol oxidase. The treatment with a phenol oxidising enzyme prevents the use of environmentally harmful binders.

The invention has the aim of providing a technical solution to simplify individualization of stacked flowerpots made of random fiber non-woven fabric and to enhance the stability of flowerpots. According to said solution, a flowerpot made of random fiber non-woven fabric is embodied in such a way that at least three ribs (3) that are axially oriented and advantageously distributed almost evenly along the periphery of the flowerpot are disposed on the wall of the pot (2). In another embodiment, at least three taperings (6) oriented almost axially are disposed on the wall of the flowerpot. Said taperings serve to partially support the bottom edges when the pots are stacked. In an additional embodiment, the taperings have support (8) and bearing surfaces. Alternatively, the edge of the pot (7) is configured as a pressed stable edge with a larger diameter and a support edge. The flowerpot is used in plant breeding, forestry and horticulture.
