A security device is provided to ensure that no damage is caused by high pressure points when bulk material (9) is introduced and sprinkled into the pressing section (3). The security device can include detection of the forces acting between superposed deflection rollers (4,5) when the support rollers (4, 5) are placed on top of each other on the intake side of the double-band press (100). It is, however, also possible to arrange additional hydraulically supported support rollers (18,19) between the deflection rollers (4, 5), which no longer need to be superposed, and the intake orifice (3'), and to use the pressure in the hydraulic support system to disconnect the drive of the press bands (1,2).

A process for manufacturing a decorative mainly isometric thermosetting laminate (1) comprising an isometric core (2), a primary surface layer (10) and optionally a secondary surface layer (20). 85 parts by weight of preferably organic particles are mixed with 15-85 parts by weight of a thermosetting resin such as phenol-formaldehyde resin, melamine-formaldehyde resin, urea-formaldehyde resin or mixtures thereof under powerful kneading in an extruder so that friction heat forms. The thermosetting resin is hereby bonded to or impregnating the particles. The particles possibly bonded to one another are parted whereby an agglomerate of resin and particles is formed. The particle/resin mixture is then dried to a water content of below 10 %. The dried particle/resin mixture is then evenly distributed and continuously or discontinuously compressed in one or more steps under heat and pressure so that the resin finally cures, whereby an isometric core (2) is formed. The core (2) is during or after the pressing provided with a primary (10) and optionally a secondary (20) surface layer. The invention also relates to a laminate obtained through the process and use thereof.

The invention relates to a press (1) for the continuous production of chipboard or fibreboard, in which surface pressure is applied to the chip or fibre mat (2) that has been provided with a binding agent, between a continuous press belt (5) and a press drum (3). A cleaning device (6) can be brought into contact with essentially the entire width of the press belt (5). The cleaning device (6) is located on a continuous support track (7) that can be operated by a drive (8) in a substantially transversal direction to the displacement direction of the press belt (5). The invention also relates to a working method for the continuous production of chipboard or fibreboard, according to which a chip or fibre web that has been provided with a binding agent is subjected to linear pressure between a press drum and a pressure roll and, in addition, to a surface pressure between a continuous belt and the press drum in order to create a desired raw thickness. According to said method, a desired gap measurement is set between the press drum and the pressure roller and the linear pressure that defines the raw thickness is adjusted by modifying the material feed of the chip or fibre web.
