Abstract:
This device (2) for a coupling box portion (20) of a steel tube (4) intended for use in a tubular hydrocarbon working string includes a cylindrical sleeve portion (28) defining an inner cavity (60) intended to receive the coupling box portion (20). The protective device (2) is so configured to surround the coupling box portion (20).
Abstract:
A universal thread protector (80) is provided for protecting either of the pin and box ends of a pipe (26). The thread protector (80) has a cap (82) with an open end and a closed end. A rubber seal element (88) is positioned within and adjacent to the open end of the cap. A ring member (86) is positioned against the seal element (88) between the seal element and the closed end of the cap. Bolts (92) are provided having an end positioned against the ring member (86). The bolts (92) are movable from an unactuated position to an actuated position wherein the bolt applies a force against the ring member when in the actuated position. As such, the ring member (86) pushes against the seal element (88) so as to deform or compress the seal element against the outer diameter of the pipe (26) positioned within the cap (82). A method of protecting the threaded ends of pipe is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to metal protectors for threaded extremities of pipe joints for the drilling of oil, gas and geothermal wells. The protectors are intended to protect the threads and seals of the assembly joint against shocks during transportation and handling in the wells and also eliminate the need to use a cardboard washer, which is only used to deliver the product, exposing the seal to shocks during handling in the wells after deterioration of the cardboard washer, considering that cardboard does not provide the same protection against impacts and shocks as steel.
Abstract:
An end cap (10) has a rigid cup-like configuration and comprises a flat end portion (11) and a tubular side portion (12) extending from the end portion to form a skirt. The side portion is provided with strengthening ribs (13) and a polygonal end flange (14). The end caps are placed on opposite ends of a roll of sheet material and are bound to the roll by tapes (24) which are located in channels (15) in the end caps and pass longitudinally alongside the roll. The roll may be stood upright on an end cap, and the end caps protect the roll. A ribbed protective sheet (21) may be wound around the roll before the end caps are placed on the ends of the protective sheet.
Abstract:
This application relates to a filter assembly and a filter element. A filter assembly comprises a filter housing defining an internal volume. A filter element is positioned within the internal volume and comprises a filter media, a first end cap coupled to a first end of the filter media, and a second end cap coupled to a second end of the filter media. The second end cap comprises a base. The second end of the filter media is coupled to the base. A first circumferential wall extends from a radial outer edge of the base towards the first end, and a second circumferential wall extends from the radial outer edge of the base away from the first end and has second end cap coupling features defined on a radial inner surface thereof. The filter assembly also includes a reservoir having reservoir coupling features that engage the second end cap coupling features to couple the reservoir to the second end cap.
Abstract:
A safety device functions as a cap that is inserted over the exposed end of an I-shaped support post. The safety device comprises a generally L-shaped cap including a front pad that covers the flange of the support post, and a top pad that covers the exposed end of the support post when the safety device is installed onto the support post.
Abstract:
Port protection device particularly suited for an encapsulated filter unit.
