    摘要: The invention aims at providing a catalyst for polymerizing one or more polar unsaturated compounds into a (co)polymer which catalyst enables extremely efficient production of such (co)polymers closely controlled in number-average molecular weight with a closely controlled number of formed molecules, and (co)polymers obtained by using the catalyst. More specifically, the invention relates to a polymerization catalyst composition containing a composition comprising an organic-oxy salt compound (i.e., a salt of an organic oxy anion) and a hydroxy-carbonyl compound bearing in the molecule both an alcoholic hydroxyl group and a carbonyl group; polymerization of polar unsaturated compounds with the catalyst; and compositions containing the (co)polymers obtained by this polymerization, which are useful particularly as thermosetting powder coating materials excellent in performances.

    摘要: Polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions are useful in dispersing various compounds in a carrier liquid. The polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions employ polymers having both hydrophilic domains and hydrophobic domains so that the compositions can disperse particles such as polymer particles or droplets in a continuous phase as well as provide stable dispersions that have not been provided before. The antimicrobial properties of the compositions provide much-needed capabilities of fighting infectious agents such as bacteria and viruses in a wide spectrum of products such as paint, adhesives, and coatings. Methods of using these compositions as well as methods of making products using the compositions are disclosed.
