    Abstract: A photochromic product of curing is produced by irradiating a photopolymerizable composition comprising: (A) a radical-polymerizable monomer, (B) an ultraviolet polymerization initiator exhibiting a main absorption in the ultraviolet region and a molar absorption coefficient of 150 1/(mol.cm) or above at 400 nm, and (C) a photochromic compound with an active energy radiation exhibiting an emission spectrum at 400 nm or above as the main spectrum to cure the composition. The above composition can easily be polymerized in a short time to give a product of curing exhibiting excellent photochromism.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for light fatigue resistant photochromic compositions including a unique combination of hindered aminoether light stabilizer ("HAELS") compounds to extend the usable lifetime of naphthopyran photochromic compositions and articles. Additionally, light stabilizer compounds and hydroxyphenyl benzotriazole UV absorbers have a synergistic effect in extending the usable lifetime of photochromic compositions and articles.     Abstract: A process for the production of a photochromic product of curing by mixing a mixture comprising a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate monomer (e.g., crude polyalkylene glycol dimethacrylate containing impurities) and a photochromic spiro-oxazine compound with a compound having at least one epoxy group in the molecule (e.g., glycidyl methacrylate) and polymerizing the mixture thus obtained. This process can give a photochromic product of curing which little suffers from initial discoloration and is excellent in initial chromophoric activity.
