摘要: The present invention relates to a time temperature indicator comprising at least one indicator compound in a first isomeric form, which is converted into a second isomeric form of said indicator compound in a valence isomerization reaction without migration of an atom or chemical group attached to said indicator compound in a time and temperature dependent manner, wherein the formation of the second isomeric form is detectable by monitoring a physical characteristic of the indicator. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a time-temperature indicator comprising the steps of (a) embedding in or atop a matrix said indicator compound; and (b) inducing the formation of a metastable state of said embedded indicator compound.

摘要: The invention relates to an electrochrome display device comprised of a pair of glass or plastic plates or plastic films of which at least one plate or film or both plates or films are respectively provided with an electrically conductive coating on one side. At least one plate or film and the electrically conductive coating thereof are transparent. The electrically conductive layer of at least one of both plates or films is respectively divided into separate, individually contacted flat segments which each comprise an electric supply line from the edge of the device. The plates or films are joined on the sides of their conductive coating by a sealing ring. The volume which is formed by both plates or films and by the sealing ring is filled with an electrochrome medium. The electric supply lines to the flat segments are insulated from the electrochrome medium. The invention also relates to a method for producing an electrochrome display device in which the flat segments and the supply lines thereof are first formed from a flat, conductive coating or are applied on the plates or films, and afterwards the electrically insulating layer is applied on the supply lines. The electrochrome display device is operated by using constant, pulsed or direct voltage which varies in the amplitude thereof, or by using alternating voltage.

摘要: The invention concerns an electrochrome system comprising a mixture of reducible and oxidizable substances RED1 and OX2, at least one RED1'-OX2' pair being covalently interlinked via a bridge and, for at least one RED1'' or OX2'' substance, the reciprocal conversion of the oxidized form and the reduced form being brought about by the fracture or formation of a sigma -bond. The electrochrome system is characterized by simplified electron transfer and reduced secondary reactions.

摘要: Compounds have the general formula (I) Z[-Y -(A-Y )m-X]n, in which the variables have the following meanings: Z stands for an n-valent aliphatic residue with 2 to 20 C atoms or for an n-valent three to seven-membered saturated or unsaturated carbocyclic or heterocyclic residue that may also be benzocyclised, or for an n-valent siloxane or cyclosiloxane residue with up to 10 Si atoms; Y , Y stand for a chemical bond, oxygen, sulphur or a group -CO-O-, -O-CO-, -N(R)-CO- or -CO-N(R)-; m equals 0 or 1; A stands for an alkylene group with 2 to 20 C atoms in which non-adjacent C atoms may be substituted by oxygen, sulphur, -CO-O-, -O-CO- or -N(R)-; n equals 2 to 6; R stands for hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl; and X stands for a substituted triphenylene residue. Because they recur n times in the compounds, A, Y , Y , m and X may be the same or different. These compounds are useful as charge carriers.
