摘要: A method for producing a deposit resistant fluid includes combining a base stock and one or more additives to form a blended fluid configured to maintain fluidity in a low temperature environment and to resist forming deposits in an oxidizing environment. The base stock has a viscosity index of at least 80, and either a kinematic viscosity at 40 °C of at least 320 cSt or a kinematic viscosity at 100 °C of at least 14 cSt. The base stock includes greater than or equal to about 90 wt% saturates, less than or equal to about 10 wt% aromatics, and a sum of terminal/pendant propyl groups and terminal/pendant ethyl groups of at least 1.7 per 100 carbon atoms.

The viscosity modifier is present at greater than 2 wt%, based on a total weight of the lubricant composition. Exemplary hydrocarbon polymers include, but are not limited to, olefin polymers, such as polyisobutylene polybutene, ethylene α-olefin copolymers, or combinations thereof.

摘要: The present disclosure also relates to lubrication compositions comprising a long branched ethylene copolymer and methods for making compositions. Compositions of the present disclosure can be a composition including an oil and an ethylene copolymer, the copolymer having one or more of an MWD from about 2.0 to about 6.5; an Mw(LS) from about 30,000 to about 300,000 g/mol; a g'vis of from about 0.5 to about 0.97; an ethylene content of about 40 wt% to less than 80 wt%. The composition has a shear stability index (30 cycles) of from about 1% to about 60%; and a kinematic viscosity at 100°C of from about 3 cSt to about 25 cSt. A method of making a composition includes blending an oil with a copolymer is also disclosed. Additionally, provided are novel long chain branched ethylene propylene copolymers and methods to produce such copolymers.

The phosphate ester has the following structure (1) here R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrogen group with a carbon number between 1 and 30, and may either be mutually identical or mutually different; R3 represents a hydrocarbon group with a carbon number between 1 and 20; R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group with a carbon number between 1 and 30; and X1, X2, X3, and X4 each indicate an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, where these may either be mutually identical or mutually different.
