Abstract:
Disclosed is a soap composition comprising 45 to 75 wt% total fatty matter; 0.1 to 3 wt% electrolyte comprising sodium sulphate; silica gel; and 15 to 30 wt% moisture. The invention also provides process of making high moisture soap bars with good hardness by in situ generation of silica gel during the soap making process.
Abstract:
A cleansing composition includes 25% to 35% by weight of a surfactant, 1.5% to 5% by weight of a co-surfactant, 5% to 9% by weight of water; and 50% to 60% by weight of a fatty acid and soap mixture, wherein the fatty acid to soap ratio is 2.3:1 to 1.8:1. A method of making cleansing bars includes heating the cleansing composition to a temperature sufficient to provide a molten composition, cooling the molten composition to form flakes and/or chips, refining the flakes and/or chips to form billets, and stamping and/or cutting the billets to form the cleansing bars. Another method of making cleansing bars includes heating the cleansing composition to a temperature sufficient to provide a molten composition, pouring the molten composition into a mold, cooling the molten composition until the cleansing bars are formed, and removing the cleansing bars from the mold.
Abstract:
An improved soap composition and methods of manufacture thereof are disclosed. In one embodiment, a soap composition is produced from a saponification reaction between: a first mixture comprising an oil and a vinegar component, the vinegar component including an extraction medium of natural vinegar and extract from a natural plant additive; and a second mixture comprising an alkaline solution. In another embodiment, the invention relates to the use of soap raw materials as the extraction medium of herbal ingredients for use in soap, cosmetic, and/or household products. The invention eliminates extra steps needed to separate the extract from a solvent as the extraction medium itself is one or more of the raw materials of the product. In yet another embodiment, the invention relates to increasing the zeta-potential of relevant insoluble particles in the solution of a soap base by the incorporation of zeta-potential increasing component(s).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to predominantly (50% or greater) soap bars made from oil or oils of defined iodine value. Unexpectedly, it has been found that, when defined amounts of potassium soap are used, bars made from oils falling within the defined IV range have excellent extrusion rates (as defined by falling within defined hardness values) without exhibiting excessive cracking, while exhibiting wear and mush values associated with lower IV and surprising lather values not expected from bars made from lower IV oils. This is a unique and unexpected simultaneous accumulation of attributes. Further, unexpected perfume performance (e.g., bloom) is also found.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An improved liquid abrasive cleanser is described that shows greatly improved soil removal performance along with improved rinsing characteristics. The improved cleanser is comprised of abrasives, at least one surfactant, an associative polymer thickener, a pH adjusting agent and water. The compositions of the present invention show pseudo-plastic rheology in that they shear thin upon dispensing through a bottle closure, but re-thicken on hard surfaces to provide vertical cling.
Abstract:
An improved saturated soap characterised as follows: (a) it comprises saturated fatty acid radicals of which at least 98 % comprises predominantly a mixture of saturated C12-C16, (b) the percentage weight of C12-C14 fatty acid radicals is 75-95 % and that of C16-C18 is 5-25 %, (c) the fatty acid composition of fatty acid metal salt is 35-50 % C12, 35-50 % C14, and 5-15 % C16, (d) the fatty acid radicals are partially neutralised as mixed sodium and potassium soap noodles, the weight ratio of sodium hydroxide to potassium hydroxide being 9:1 to 2:1, (e) 0-7 % of free fatty acids, (f) water content can be 12 % or more at time of manufacture, (g) less than 1 % sodium chloride.
Abstract:
A detergent composition which comprises inorganic particles and a soap such as a soda soap, wherein the inorganic particles are ones obtained by adding a pineapple juice to zeolite, calcium carbonate, silica, a ceramic powder, a fossil alga powder, a seashell powder, etc. and fermenting the juice to fix a pineapple enzyme to the inorganic material. The composition causes no water pollution unlike synthetic detergents and is effective in avoiding the water pollution caused by wastewater resulting from cleaning. In addition, due to the positive water-cleaning ability of the pineapple enzyme, the composition cleans the inside of a drainage piping, a sewage purifier tank, etc. to improve their functions. Thus, water pollution can be mitigated.
