Abstract:
Adjuvant powder compositions contain a benefit agent or agents and which powder compositions are used in detergent bar compositions to enhance delivery of the benefit agent. The carriers used to form adjuvants must have melting point high enough to survive spray-drying process. Specifically, the invention relates to a bar compositions comprising (A) about 1 % to 30 % powder comprising: (a) 1 % to 70 % by wt. powder benefit agent; (b) 15 % to 98 % by wt. powder carrier; (c) 1 % to 10 % by wt. powder water; and (d) 0 % to 30 % by wt. powder deposition/processing aid (e.g., surfactant, cationic polymer and/or hydrophilic polymer); and (B) 99 % to 70 % chips comprising 5 % to 90 % of a surfactant system wherein the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of soap, anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, cationic surfactant and mixtures thereof. The present invention also provides a process for making bars wherein (A) and (B) are separately prepared; wherein (a), (b), (c) and optional (d) are mixed at 40 DEG to 80 DEG C; wherein the mixture of (a) and (b) is spray dried at 80 DEG C to 200 DEG C at a pressure of 0.10 to 0.30 MPa; and wherein (A) and (B) are mixed, plodded, and extruded into a final bar.
Abstract:
Fused and unfused bicyclic rings are a convenient scaffold for synthesizing various compounds. Amphiphilic compounds constructed upon a fused or unfused bicyclic ring scaffold may exhibit surfactant properties differing from those of more conventional classes of surfactants. Such amphiphilic compounds may have a structure of formula (I), wherein A is an aromatic ring, a heteroaromatic ring, or a cycloaliphatic ring, each ring being defined by 5 to 10 ring atoms, B is an aromatic ring or a heteroaromatic ring, each ring being defined by 5 to 6 ring atoms, wherein at least one G is a hydrophobic moiety and at least one G is a hydrophilic moiety, and z is 0 or a positive integer ranging up to the number of ring atoms in each of A and B; and wherein the hydrophobic moiety comprises branched or unbranched C 6 to C 30 alkyl or alkenyl group, and the hydrophilic moiety comprises a polar functional group selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium, sulfonate, sulfate, carboxylate, phosphate, and ethoxylated.
Abstract:
Plant for the continuous production of soap in sheets, in particular for the selective production of soap sheets for washing machines and hand-washing soap sheets, characterized in that it comprises: - at least one mixer (44), into which the components are introduced one at a time to prepare a paste with a gelatinous consistency, with which a dimensionally stable continuous band of soap will then be formed (16), - means for introducing said paste with a gelatinous consistency into a casting box (8), configured to release from this a continuous veil of said paste with a gelatinous consistency intended to be deposited on an underlying conveyor belt (12), - a drying oven (10), in which the veil of paste with a gelatinous consistency, transported by said conveyor belt (12), is dried to form said dimensionally stable continuous soap belt (16), - means (98) for separating said dimensionally stable continuous soap belt (16) from said conveyor belt (12) at the exit from said drying oven (10), - a control and management unit for controlling both the activation phases of said mixer (44), after the introduction of each of the components of the dough, and the pause times at the end of predefined activation phases of said mixer (44) based on specific recipes.
Abstract:
The liquid of the present invention can provide good cleansing, lather and good sensory feel and yet surprisingly provide a lipid moisturizing benefit via deposition of the lipid on the skin of the user. The liquid composition is stable and on a macro scale is homogeneous. The dual cleansing and lipid moisturizing liquid composition of this invention comprises: (1) about 5 parts to about 30 parts of a lipid skin moisturizing agent; (2) about 1 to about 15 parts of an ethylene glycol fatty acid ester; (3) from about 0.05 parts to about 3 parts of a selected water dispersible gel forming polymer; (4) from about 5 parts to about 30 parts of a lathering synthetic surfactant; and (5) water, and wherein said synthetic surfactant and any soap has a combined CMC equilibrium surface tension value of from 15 to 50, and wherein said lathering skin cleansing liquid composition has a Lipid Deposition Value (LDV) of from about 5 to about 1000 νg of lipid per sq. cm of skin.
Abstract:
A very stable mild dispersoidal liquid soap personal cleansing and moisturizing composition comprising: (A) from about 5 % to about 20 % by weight of potassium C8-C22 fatty acid soap; (B) from about 0.1 to about 7 % C8-C22 free fatty acid; (C) from about 35 % to about 70 % water; and (D) from about 8 % to about 35 % of a polyol selected from the group consisting of: glycerin, glycerol, propylene glycol, polypropylene glycols, polyethylene glycols, ethyl hexanediol, hexylene glycols, and other aliphatic alcohols; and mixtures thereof; (E) from about 0.5 % to about 5 % petrolatum; and (F) from about 0.5 to about 5 % glycol ester selected from the group consisting of glycol monoesters and diesters of fatty acids with a chain length from about 10 to about 22, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a soap bar composition which provides enhanced delivery of water soluble skin benefit agents such that the desired activity of the benefit agent is observed for a long time post the wash. This is achieved by absorbing / coating the benefit agent on to specific clays followed by further coating with a hydrophobic material selected from wax or petrolatum.
