Abstract:
The inventive biopreparation named AVALON relates to antipollution agents, in particular to agents acting against the technogenic pollution of environmental sites. Said preparation comprises a porous carrier and strains of destructive micro-organisms which are artificially immobilized in the pores of the carrier and selected with respect to the type of pollution. Foamed vitreous metaphosphates of a variable composition type are used as a porous carrier, and strains of micro-organisms oxidizing petrol are used as the biodestructors. The inventive cleaning method consists in depositing an absorbent on a surface to be cleaned and in the cleaning thereof with the aid of AVALON which comprises the foamed metaphosphates of a variable composition type containing the micro-organisms selected with respect to the type of pollution. The inventive method considerably simplifies the transportation of the biopreparation to the site to be cleaned and increases the effectiveness of the cleaning. The biopreparation has a high biological activity in relation to petroleum hydrocarbons and products thereof.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides new attenuated Pepino mosaic viruses useful in the control of plant disease. Compositions for biological control of plant disease are also provided as well as methods for the induction of cross-protection and increased resistance against Pepino mosaic virus in plants. The methods and compositions are particularly useful for inducing cross-protection against US1 strains of PepMV.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a biofungicidal composition from a biologically pure culture of a Chilean bacterial isolate obtained from grape skin corresponding to Serratia plymuthica CCGG2742, to be used as an environmentally-friendly biological control agent for controlling fungal plant diseases, especially fruit susceptible to infection by Botrytis cinerea, efficiently inhibiting the germination of conidia and the proliferation of the mycelium of said phytopathogenic fungi. Said biofungicidal composition also protects the leaves of plants and fruit from infection by said fungus, and can potentially be used in the biological control of other phytopathogenic fungi and micro-organisms.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Serratia plymuthica strain A30, BCCM Deposit No. LMG P-26170, its analogues or functionally equivalent strains thereto, provides a biological control agent against plant disease caused by a bacterial pathogen, particularly a soft rot, e.g. blackleg. The pathogen is Dickeya spp., Pectobacterium spp., and Ralstonia spp.; including Dickeya sp. biovar 3 strain. The deposited strain and its variants are formulated in an agriculturally or horticulturally acceptable diluent, carrier, filler or adjuvant. Plants or plant parts, particularly potato tubers, containing the deposited strain provide useful propagation material free of soft rot or blackleg disease.
