摘要: The present invention provides a treated fiber having reduced hydrogen bonding capabilities, which may be useful in the production of tissue products having improved bulk and softness. The treated fiber comprises a water-insoluble inorganic compound that is generated in situ by reacting at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a silicate, a silyl, a silane, and an alkaline metal and a precipitation agent in the presence of the fiber at or above the critical fiber consistency. In the embodiment, the first reagent and precipitating agent are sodium silicate and hydrochloric respectively. The invention also provides a tissue product comprising at least one multi-layered tissue web having a fibrous layer wherein the said fibrous layer comprises treated fibre comprising at least 5000 ppm water-insoluble inorganic selected from silicone, aluminum and zinc.

摘要: An absorbent composite foam is provided having a density below 0.04 g/cc and low wet collapse comprising (i) between about 5 to about 40% by wt. fluid resistant fibers; (ii) between about 30 to about 80% by wt. cellulosic fibers; (iii) between about 5 to about 35% by wt. binder; and (iv) a foaming surfactant. The combination of ultra-low density and wet stability is achieved, despite a high proportion of cellulosic fibers, by having both hydrogen bonding between cellulosic fibers as well as inter-fiber bonds formed by the binder.

摘要: Debonding compositions and methods are disclosed for use in fibrous compositions such as paper-based products. In some instances, debonding agents can be combined with fibers (e.g., cellulose-based fibers) to produce a material having substantial wicking properties while decreasing fiber-fiber interactions that can require substantial energy to overcome in materials processing. In some instances, the debonding agent can act to create a paper-based product exhibiting a transition temperature in which the agent has a higher affinity for the fibers at temperatures above the transition temperature, and the product exhibiting enhaced wicking properties at temperatures below the transition temperature. As an example, a debonding agents can include polymers or other material exhibiting a lower critical solution temperature. The disclosed debonding agents can provide benefits over existing debonding agent formulations such as ammonium salts.

摘要: The invention relates to a process for increasing bulk of a fiber product, in which process a fiber pulp, and further a fiber product, is formed. In accordance with the invention, in a first step a carbonate compound is added to the fiber pulp as a basic component, and in a second step acid is added as an acidic component, in order to form salt, to provide the formation of small- bubbled gas, and to increase the bulk, and the fiber pulp is dehydrated. The invention also relates to a corresponding fiber product and to the use thereof.
