Abstract:
A piston assembly including a piston body pivotally connected to a connecting rod by a wrist pin. The wrist pin includes a sealed cavity therein partially filled with a heat transfer medium. The heat transfer medium may be composed of a fusible alloy. The sealed cavity may be comprised of discrete compartments. The wrist pin may be integrated with the connecting rod and share a conjoined sealed cavity therewith so that heat transfer medium can draw heat effectively away from the piston body.

Abstract:
A subsea line clamp assembly (1) has a body (10) having an axis and a clamp member (50), assembled in segments around a subsea line (3), and tethered to a subsea anchor (5). The clamp member (50) is movably located within the body (10). The inner surface of the body (10) and the outer surface of the clamp member (50) have respective tapered portions as part of teeth (32, 72) arranged to inter-engage. Adjacent teeth (32, 72) may be separated by axis-parallel portions. The clamping force on the subsea line (30) can be maintained at a consistent clamping force throughout the service life of the subsea line (3), despite the actions of creep and compression acting to reduce the outer diameter of the line (3).

Abstract:
Abstract:
A piston assembly and method of assembly thereof, a wrist pin, a piston, a connecting rod, and methods of construction thereof is provided. The assembly includes a piston body having a pair laterally spaced pin bosses with a feature to prevent relative rotation of a first wrist pin member. The assembly has a connecting rod with a small end bore extending along a central axis and allowing relative rotation of the first wrist pin member and a feature with the small end bore to prevent relative rotation of a second wrist pin member. The first and second wrist pin members are moveable relative to one another, wherein the first and second members extend substantially parallel to the central axis through the small end bore.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a piston (10) and a piston - connecting rod assembly (1) for internal combustion engines or compressors, featuring a pinless connecting rod assembly having a joint claw (11), whereas the joint claw (11) is formed to partly encompass an upper joining end (12) of a connecting rod (13), whereas the joint claw (11) is formed as a part of an inner section (14) of the piston (10), and whereas the inner section (14) is radially encircled by a cylindrical piston skirt (15). According to the invention at least one bar element (16) is arranged extending between the inner section (14) and the piston skirt (15), whereas the bar element (16) divides a first open section (17) from at least one second open section (18) being arranged between the inner section (14) and the piston skirt (15).
Abstract:
A piston assembly for use in the cylinder block of a fluid translating device such as a hydraulic pump or motor. The piston assembly has an inner core having a working end, a driven end and an axial stem. An outer sleeve is positioned about an axial stem of the inner core of the piston assembly. The outer sleeve is composed of a material, which is made from a material being lighter weight than steel, and secured to the axial stem. A slipper includes a piston receiving portion for pivotaly receiving the driven end of the piston assembly. The piston assembly and slipper include a lubrication passage providing a path for pressurized fluid.

Abstract:
A piston (20) and connecting rod assembly includes a piston crown (24), a piston skirt (26), a connecting rod (22), and a bearing insert (50). The piston skirt (26) is a component separate from the piston crown (24) and is connected to the piston crown to provide a piston body. The bearing insert (50) is a component separate from the piston crown (24) and the piston skirt (26) and is fixedly disposed within the piston body. A bearing surface of a connecting rod contacts the bearing insert (50) to thereby movably associate the connecting rod (22) and the piston body (20).
