Abstract:
A pinch valve that includes a holder and an insert that fits in the holder. The pinch valve receives a dispensing tube for liquids and controls the flow of liquid in the dispensing valve. The insert defines an inner wall portion against which a plunger assembly pushes the dispensing tube to stop liquid from flowing through the dispensing tube. The insert and the holder define a throttle portion that throttles the flow of liquid when the plunger assembly is moved from the pinch position, where is pushed the dispensing tube against the inner wall portion of the insert, to a flow position.
Abstract:
According to the invention there is provided a valve (1) for engaging with a tube to be used in an enteral feeding or infusion pump adapted to feed a fluid to a patient, the valve (1) comprising a first component (3) being adapted to be connected to a first tube and having a first cavity (4) and a sealing element (9), a second component (5) being adapted to be connected to the first component (3) and a second tube, the second component (5) having a second cavity (7), a valve seat (12) and a flexible portion, wherein the sealing element (9) of the first component (3) and the valve seat (12) of the second component (5) are sealingly engageable for controlling fluid flow between the first (4) and the second cavity (7), wherein applying an axial tension force between the first component (3) and the second component (5) will bring the valve (1) into an open position, wherein the flexible portion comprises at least one bellows (14) having a spring function in the axial direction, and a housing (8) is provided at least partially covering the second component (5), wherein the housing (8) is configured to operate as a stop limiting the movement of the second component (5).
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a pinch valve having upper and lower casings respectively supporting upper and lower pinch elements. The upper and lower casings are adapted for receiving a sleeve. A synchronization mechanism drives movements of the upper and lower pinch elements for pinching the sleeve. The upper and lower casings are connected by a pivot allowing pivoting of one or the other of the upper and lower casings for opening of the pinch valve, and for ease of access to the sleeve for maintenance purposes.
Abstract:
A device close to the body for an infusion system for delivery of an infusion fluid from a container, bag or the like, through a tubing to a user location (human being or animal) via a veinflon/cannula, and means to maintain the pressure in the bag so that the fluid flows through the tubing to the user location is described. The device is characterised in that the tubing comprises a reduction valve for automatic regulation of the fluid pressure to within a desired range and said desired pressure is maintained as long as there is fluid in the bag. A preferred application of the device is also described. Furthermore, the invention relates to a new construction of a box for storage of the bag during the delivery of fluid to the patient, and also a new construction for a reduction valve.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An anti-free flow device (16) is disclosed for a fluid administration system (10) having a tube assembly (12) engageable with a pump (14) with one end of the tube assembly (12) connected to a source of fluid (46) and the other end in fluid flow communication with a patient. The valve device (16) comprises a tube portion (18) defining a channel (22) in-line along a portion of the tube assembly (12) and a body (20) disposed and securely retained inside the channel. Fluid flow is allowed through the tube assembly (12) whenever the tube assembly (12) is in a stretched condition, such as when the tube assembly (12) is engaged with the pump (14). However, fluid free flow is prevented whenever the tube assembly (12) is in a relaxed condition or disengaged from the pump (14).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A pinch valve comprising: a pinch tube housing a pinch sleeve having an operating cross- section in a control region of the pinch sleeve; a squeezer comprising a resilient pinching head that contacts the pinch sleeve in a region of the operating cross-section and is controllable to translate the pinching head selectively to apply force to the region and decrease the operating cross-section, or to relax force that the pinching head applies to the region to increase the operating cross-section.
Abstract:
Described herein is an apparatus and method for dispensing a granular material. The apparatus includes a hopper for storing the granular material and a feeder for delivering the granular material through a hopper outlet to a dispensing tube that is configured to guide the granular material towards a dispensing outlet. The valve assembly is actuatable to pinch and unpinch the dispensing tube, thereby blocking and unblocking the passage of material. The valve assembly is configured to receive a resilient portion of the dispensing tube, and is actuatable to pinch the resilient portion of the dispensing tube to inhibit passage of the granular material to the dispensing port, and to unpinch said resilient potion of the dispensing tube to enable passage of the granular material through the dispensing port. The dispensing tube may be sloped between the hopper outlet and the valve assembly. Sloping of the dispensing tube promotes sliding of the granular material along an inner surface of the dispensing tube. This focusses the flow profile of the granular material, and reduces the scattering of granular material outside the vessel.
