摘要: An angle-resolving photoelectron spectrometer and a method for such a spectrometer is described. The spectrometer comprises an electrostatic lens system (101) having a first end (1) and a second end (2), and being arranged to form a beam of electrons emitted from a measurement area (A) on a sample surface (Ss) of a solid sample (3), and to transport the electrons to the second end (2), and wherein the first lens element (4) is configured to be arranged at a positive voltage in relation to the sample (3). The spectrometer comprises at least a first shielding electrode (17) with a limiting aperture (18), arranged such that the angle between the optical axis (6) and any point on the limiting aperture (18) is larger than 45° and smaller than 70°, seen from a point on the sample surface (Ss) at the optical axis (6), and at least one compensation electrode (7) which is arranged around the optical axis (6) at a larger distance from the measurement area (A) than the first lens element (4). According to the method, the compensation electrode (7) is configured to be arranged at a negative voltage in relation to the sample (3).

摘要: Described herein are examples of torch tracking systems that monitor travel directions, speeds, and/or distances of welding torches using retractable cords. In some examples, the torch tracking systems use a sensor to measure a speed at which a reel extends and/or retracts a cord, and/or measure a length of the cord that is extended and/or retracted. The reel or cord can be attached to some portion of the welding torch, such that movement of the torch away from the reel causes the reel to extend more cord, and movement towards the reel allows a spring loaded spool of the reel to automatically retract the cord. While reel based torch tracking systems may provide coarser tracking than the more complex and/or expensive torch tracking solutions, their simplicity and low cost may make them an attractive alternative.

摘要: A method and systems for performing a borehole operation with a borehole fluid that includes applying an amplitude oscillation deformation force to a sample of the borehole fluid over a period of time, measuring the deformation force from the sample, determining a storage modulus of the borehole fluid over the period of time based on the measured deformation force, determining a gel strength of the borehole fluid by correlation with the storage modulus, comparing the gel strength with a desired gel strength and if the gel strength is outside of an acceptable range of the desired gel strength, adjusting a drilling parameter, a composition of the borehole fluid, or a combination thereof, and using the borehole fluid in the borehole operation. Determining the storage modulus and the gel strength may be done using a processor and the force may be applied using a piezoelectric device.

摘要: A method of scanning an industrial chemical vessel to monitor a chemical process within the industrial chemical vessel, the method comprising: positioning a first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrying a gamma radiation source on one side of the vessel; positioning a second UAV carrying a gamma radiation detector on an opposite side of the vessel; moving the first and second UAVs in a coordinated fashion in order to scan the vessel by passing gamma radiation through the vessel from the radiation source carried by the first UAV to the radiation detector carried by the second UAV thereby measuring a density profile of the industrial chemical vessel; identifying a location of one or more fluid layers within the industrial chemical vessel; and determining if a chemical process within the industrial chemical vessel is operating correctly or if there is a problem with the chemical process within the industrial chemical vessel based on the location of the one or more fluid layers within the industrial chemical vessel identified using the first and second UAVs.
