Abstract: A carbon nanotube (CNT) ion-selective field effect transistor (IS-FET) integrated device is used to detect nitrate ion in water. The device is operated as an IS-FET sensor, holding the measured potential between the drain electrode and an external reference electrode constant with a potentiometric circuit. Transduction occurs by changes in the effective CNT film gate potential with changes in the phase boundary potential of an ion-selective membrane (ISM) film. Moreover, the nitrate ISM film makes the device highly selective towards nitrate sensing. This printable IS- FET nitrate sensor enables real-time and high-resolution measurements and recording of nitrate ion in water at low cost.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process and method for the early detection and diagnosis of disease by reading and decoding volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for signatures associated with a specific disease. From its outset, each disease begins producing its own unique set of volatile organic compounds. For many diseases, this early-stage detection may be many months or years before noticeable symptoms. The VOC emissions when analyzed, result in a "signature" that identifies and distinguishes the developing, or at later stages, the developed disease. The device assays non-invasively obtained biosamples in real-time to output a VOC based signature that, when correlated with data in a disease signature library, identifies one or more diseases associated with the sample.

Abstract: A sensor for detecting virus, including virus particles and/or genetic sequences, and method of fabrication. The sensor includes a field effect transistor (FET) having source and drain electrodes formed on a substrate and a two-dimensional virus sensing transduction material (VSTM) film formed on the FET. The VSTM film is configured to collect a sample collected from a subject and comprises MXene-graphene. The VSTM film has an antibody corresponding to the virus particles to be detected linked to the film. A drain-source current response of the FET is representative of an amount of the virus particles in the sample for indicating an infection.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an organic electrochemical transistor based on conducting polymers (for example PEDOT: PSS) in which the gate electrode has been integrated on the surface of the channel through the deposition of Ag halide nanoparticles, AgX (X = CI, Br, I). This configuration allows the device to operate without applying a potential difference to the gate electrode (with consequent reduction in operating costs). The device is able to detect the halide ion: by varying the nature of the nanoparticles and in particular by using AgX (X = CI, Br, I) or Ag2S the sensor acquires sensitivity towards anion X or sulfide.
