Abstract: An imaging device having a digital circuit block therein subjected to in-frame DVFS during a frame sequence of the sensing operating mode. In an example embodiment, the in-frame DVFS causes a higher power-supply voltage and a higher clock frequency to be supplied to the digital circuit block during read periods of the frame sequence, and a lower power-supply voltage and a lower clock frequency to be supplied to the digital circuit block during V -blanking periods of the frame sequence. The lower power-supply voltage and clock frequency are selected to be sufficient for the digital circuit block to support the pertinent functions thereof during the V-blanking periods without adversely impacting performance. For example, the lower power-supply voltage is sufficient for a SRAM of the digital circuit block to retain data therein. Beneficially, the in-frame DVFS enables the imaging device to perform motion detection while consuming very little power.

Abstract: A user may routinely wear or hold more than one computing devices. One of the computing devices may be a head-mounted computing-device configured for augmented reality. The head-mounted computing-device may include a camera. While imaging, the camera can consume power and processing resources that diminish a battery of the head-mounted computing device. To improve a battery life and to enhance a user's privacy, imaging of the camera can be deactivated during periods when the user is not interacting with the head-mounted computing device and activated when the user wishes to interact with the head-mounted computing device. The activation of the camera can be triggered by gestured data collected by a computing device other than the head-mounted computing-device.

Abstract: A first electronic device may include a memory to store a command that is mapped to an event. Further, the first electronic device may include a transceiver to pair a second electronic device with the first electronic device via a short-range wireless connection. Furthermore, the first electronic device may include a processor to receive data from the second electronic device via the transceiver. The data may indicate an occurrence of the event on the second electronic device. In response to receiving the data, the processor may retrieve the command that is mapped to the event from the memory and execute the command to control an operation of the first electronic device.
