Abstract: The present disclosure relates to implementing, updating, and managing operation of a client agent on a client device (e.g., computing device, virtual device) in a way that enables isolation of features and functionality while also allowing the client agent to self-heal and intelligently update discrete features thereon. The client agent includes a collection of plugins that are isolated and run in accordance with respective plugin policies. The client agent makes use of device-level, agent-level, and plugin-level health monitors that collectively monitor a health status of discrete components of the client agent in a way that enables the client agent to selectively discontinue scheduling certain plugins without interrupting functionality of other plugins or of the client agent as a whole. Indeed, features described herein enable the client agent to intelligently update and self-heal with respect to individual plugins based on information obtained by the respective health monitors.

Abstract: An electronic trading system and corresponding method are based on a point-to-point mesh architecture. The electronic trading system comprises a gateway, core compute node, and sequencer. The core compute node performs an electronic trading matching function. The gateway transmits a message to the core compute node via a first direct connection. The gateway transmits the message via a second direct connection to the sequencer which, in turn, transmits a sequence-marked message to the core compute node via a third direct connection. The core compute node determines relative ordering of the message among other messages in the electronic trading system based on the sequence-marked message to complete the electronic trading matching function, deterministically. The gateway, core compute node, sequencer, and respective direct connections form at least a portion of the point-to-point mesh architecture and enable the electronic trading system to perform high-speed, deterministic, electronic trading of financial instruments while exhibiting low latency, fairness, and fault tolerance, among other features.

Abstract: A distributed system for processing messages includes one or more gateways, sequencers, and compute nodes. The gateway sends a message to the sequencer and the compute node for processing. The sequencer associates the message with an identifier indicating a relative sequence of the message among a plurality of messages. The compute node processes the message to generate a preliminary result, and determines, based on the identifier, whether the compute node processed the message in sequence or out of sequence relative to another message of a plurality of messages. If the compute node determines that the message was received out of sequence, the compute node may process a sequence of messages including the message and at least one preceding message in an appropriate sequence.

Abstract: A device-implemented method for providing managed services is described herein. An example method includes determining each managed device of a plurality of managed devices available in a shared space, and determining health data for the shared space. The health data describes properties of each managed device of the plurality of managed devices, including update information, performance information, configuration information, and security information. The method further includes identifying a problem with at least one of the plurality of managed devices, the problem being identifiable based on analysis of the health data for the shared space. The method also includes coordinating operational maintenance for the at least one of the plurality of managed devices to alleviate the problem. Coordinating operational maintenance may include performing at least two of a software update, a configuration change, and uninstalling software.
