Abstract: Vertical resolution and/or vertical accuracy of terrain elevation data near an aircraft runway is adjusted by obtaining local terrain data, yielding a first elevation value for a query location. A processor receptive of the first elevation value computes plane equations based on a predetermined standard model adapted to geometrically conform to the aircraft runway, yielding a second elevation value for the query location. The processor selectively uses the first and second elevation values to generate an adjusted elevation value that is supplied to a terrain avoidance and warning system.

Abstract: A landing site selection system selects landing sites for unplanned landings for small aircraft. The landing site selection system may generate a landing site database comprising parameters for landing sites. The landing sites may be any location where an aircraft may potentially land. The landing site selection system may monitor aircraft conditions and determine that an unplanned landing may be desirable. The landing site selection system may select potential landing sites based on the aircraft conditions and the landing site parameters. The landing site selection system may display landing site parameters for the selected landing sites to a pilot to allow the pilot to select a landing site. The landing site selection may provide navigation instructions or autonomously navigate the aircraft to the landing site.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for drone delivery. One of the methods includes: receiving, at the UAV, information about a location of a drop beacon comprising GPS coordinates of a location of a drop beacon; navigating the UAV towards the location based on the information using GPS coordinates of the drop beacon; when reaching a proximity of the drop beacon, transmitting a first radio signal from the UAV with information relatable by the drop beacon; receiving, at the UAV, a second radio signal from the drop beacon; identifying, at the UAV, a line-of-sight signal from the drop beacon; navigating the UAV to the drop beacon based on the line-of-sight signal; and delivering, from the UAV, the goods to the location of the drop beacon.

The method may include the following steps: obtaining, by at least one imaging sensor disposed on an aerial platform, at least two images of at least a portion of a specified region of a terrain; determining, based on the at least two images, a 3D model of at least a portion of the specified region; receiving a predetermined model of at least a portion of the specified region; determining a real-world geographic location of the aerial platform based on the 3D model and the predetermined model; and determining flight instructions based on the 3D model and the determined geographic location of the aerial platform.

The smart drone mailbox landing pad and charging station includes a processing node having a processor, memory, a storage device, and a network connection to one or more communications networks, a drone landing pad, an induced charging pad configured to recharge a battery within one of the one or more drones, one or more external webcams, weather equipment, and a package receiving container for accepting a delivered package, while using blockchain harvesting, mining, logging and recording, for the entire process where and as needed.
