    Abstract: High density pluggable electrical connector comprising a terminal unit (6) mounted within a casing (4), the terminal unit comprising a housing (8) with a module receiving cavity (37), and a plurality of terminal modules (10) inserted in the module receiving cavity (37) in a stacked arrangement, each terminal module comprising a plurality of contacts (18) mounted in a dielectric terminal module housing (20) and a connection board (12) connected to the contacts, wherein the connector comprises more than sixty electrical contacts with a contact density of at least forty contacts per square centimeter, said terminal module having a width to height ratio greater than three, the contacts (18) of each terminal module (10) comprising, at a first end, spring plugging contact portions (38) arranged in two rows (19a, 19b) forming a receptacle slot (11) configured for receiving a male contact arrangement of a mating connector (2') therein, the contacts (18) of each terminal module (10) further comprising, at a second end distal from the first end, connection portions (40) connected to contact pads (25) on the connection board (40).

    Abstract: Alignment structures are included in high-speed data cage assemblies to prevent damage to one or more electronic components connected within the cage assembly and prevent misalignment of connected components. The alignment structures extend inwardly into a port and prevent movement of a module beyond the intended position of the module in a port. This allows connection between the module and a connector and prevents misalignment of the module. Damage to either the module or the connector by misalignment or by over-insertion of the module is prevented.

    Abstract: A device, system and method for protecting electronic systems from failure or damage when such systems are subjected to undesired conducted or radiated energy such as electromagnetic pulse or electromagnetic interference. The invention also reduces the amount of conducted or radiated emissions from an electronic system. A novel, non- conductive signal feedthrough allows a desired signal to be communicated with electrical connectivity. An incoming desired electrical signal is converted to vibrational energy by a piezoelectric transducer, which is communicated into the interior volume of a conductive electrical enclosure housing a system to be protected, where it is converted back to electrical for processing by the system to be protected by a second piezoelectric transducer. The signal feedthrough allows a continuous conductive enclosure to be employed, providing protection from undesired radiated energy. The signal feedthrough allows communication without requiring electrical conduction through the feedthrough, thus protecting against undesired conducted energy.
