Abstract:
Devices and methods are described for connecting an alternative energy source (for example, solar, wind, or gas generator power) to power source lines of a utility company to back-feed power to the utility company at a circuit breaker panel. In some implementations, an over current protection device (OCPD) is electrically coupled to the source lines before the source lines are coupled to the main circuit breaker such that it can pass current from the alternative energy source to the source lines without using the busbars of the circuit breaker panel. In some implementations, the OCPD includes slots that are configured to receive the source lines when the OCPD is pushed down over the source lines. The OCPD also includes coupling structures that fit around at least a portion of the source lines, and includes one or more spike taps to electrically couple to the source lines.
Abstract:
There is provided a terminal for an electrical power cable that includes a conductive clip, a terminal block, and a set screw. The clip resides in the terminal block and includes a plurality of openings sized to receive low voltage connectors, such as spade connectors. The openings in the clip are arranged to organize the spade connectors and their respective pigtail connections. The location and orientation of the clip and the spade connectors is such that, when the set screw is installed in the terminal block, force is applied by the set screw onto the clip. The clip compresses and secures the spade connectors to the terminal block.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Bypass systems can be used to connect alternative energy sources to existing distribution panels without the need to replace or upgrade the distribution panel. Some such bypass systems may be integrated directly into an electric meter, while others can be connected to the meter but located laterally or otherwise away from the electric meter. The bypass busbars and breakers may in some devices be interchangeable, allowing for greater flexibility and capacity of the bypass systems.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a power supply in a cabinet/rack where the power conductors constitute surfaces of copper foil with intermediate insulation, where the conductor plates are provided with recesses respectively holes, through which outward extending tongues (5, 6) provided in the plate extend into the cabinet/rackt (13). The points of contact are provided by two parallel tongues (5, 6) with mutual spacing for a negative and a positive terminal respectively, as the connected part is provided with tongues (8, 9) that can be pushed over the tongues (5, 6) to the points of contact. Insulating poles (3, 2, 1) of glass fibre reinforced epoxy are provided between, over and under the contact surfaces respectively between the respective tongues (5, 6), and the insulating poles (3, 2, 1) are provided with clamp means for pressing the insulating poles (3, 2, 1) towards each other. The insulating poles (3, 2, 1) are provided with holes in the region between the connection surface and at their respective ends for receiving the clamp means. The clamp means is a screw (11) with a pressed in steel thread in the lowermost epoxy pole (1).
Abstract:
Wedge type electrical connector assemblies adapted to electrically and mechanically connect conductors within transmission and/or distribution circuits is provided. The wedge type electrical connector assembly includes a frame, an interface and a wedge assembly. The interface is coupled to the frame so that it is movable relative to the frame. The interface can move and flex when installing conductors into the wedge type electrical connector assemblies.
Abstract:
A terminal wire clamp including a body, an aperture defined by the body, and a first tab. The body has a front face, a back face opposite to the front face, and a side edge. The first tab extends from the side edge in a first direction away from the front face.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a clamp. Particularly, but not exclusively, the invention relates to a clamp having two clamp members for clamping a bus bar in order to form a connection. A bus bar clamp for making an electrical connection with a bus bar, comprising a first clamp member (100) having a non-conductive body with a first clamp surface; a second clamp member (200) having a non-conductive body with a conductive second clamp surface formed thereon; and an electrical connector (240) mounted on the second clamp member and electrically connected to the conductive clamp surface.
Abstract:
In order to clamp several conductors (18, 19) of various diameters (d1,d2) closely together in a reliable manner and to connect them using a connecting terminal (1) comprising both a clamping part (3) that is movably fixed by means of a clamping screw (4) and provided with a cutting element (12) in addition to comprising a contact part (2) that is also provided with a cutting element (16, 17), at least the clamping area (8) of said contact part (2) is configured on a slant, running perpendicular to the direction (11) in which the conductors (18, 19) are introduced.
Abstract:
An electric storage battery connector assembly (30), including a male connector (31), which includes an elongate, generally cylindrical, electrically conductive post (32), having a fixed end for being attached to an electrical cable (21), and a free end. A female connector (50) electrically communicates with a terminal of a battery. The female connector is formed of an electrically conductive material and has a recess (51) therein for receiving the post of the male connector. A cam (33) is integrally formed on the free end of the post of the male connector, and a cam follower (53) is carried in the recess of the female connector for cooperating with the cam on the post of the male connector for relative rotational movement between the unlocked position where the post may be inserted into or removed from the recess in the female connector, and the locked position where the post is locked into the recess of the female connector against removal therefrom.
