摘要: According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for non-terrestrial network (NTN) connection control comprises receiving a message comprising parameters from which the wireless device is informed that it is to disconnect from a terrestrial network (TN) and connect to one of one or more NTNs or disconnect from a NTN and connect to one of one or more TNs. Upon the parameters informing the wireless device to connect to one of one or more NTNs, the method further comprises: disconnecting from the TN; based at least in part on the one or more parameters, selecting one of the detected at least one of the one or more NTNs; and connecting to the selected NTN. Upon the parameters informing the wireless device to connect to one of one or more TNs: the method further comprises disconnecting from the NTN, and detecting, selecting, and connecting to the TN.

摘要: This application relates to a method of performing wireless communications between a hub station and a plurality of user terminals. The method comprises transmitting radio signals to subsets of user terminals among the plurality of user terminals with sets of active beams, wherein the active beams have beam centers that are determined based on locations of the user terminals. The method further comprises, for each of a plurality of radio resource blocks: selecting a subset of user terminals among the plurality of user terminals; for each user terminal among the subset of user terminals, determining a beam center based on a location of the respective user terminal; and transmitting, using the respective radio resource block, radio signals to the user terminals among the selected subset of user terminals, in beams corresponding to the determined beam centers. The method further relates to a corresponding hub station for performing wireless communications with a plurality of user terminals, and to a method of determining antenna parameters and a beam pattern for a hub station.

摘要: A satellite provides communication between user terminals (UTs) and ground stations that connect to other networks, such as the Internet. Because the satellite is within range of many UTs at any given time, many UTs are in contention to use an uplink to send upstream data to the satellite. This saturates a random-access channel (RACH) on the uplink. When a UT has data to uplink, it sends a short buffer data status (SBDS) message using the RACH. The minimal size of the SBDS facilitates use of a non-orthogonal multiple access uplink. Based on the SBDS, the satellite allocates a grant to the UT to use the uplink. Additional messages from the UT involving buffer status may be sent using the granted uplink. Unsolicited grants may be issued to the UT based on analysis of uplink and downlink traffic. If needed, the RACH may still be used to request additional grants.

摘要: A method for wireless communication includes validating a PUR configuration in a NTN based on location-related information associated with a satellite. For example, a UE may determine, based on location-related information of a satellite in a non-terrestrial network, whether a preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) configuration is valid. The UE may also transmit, to a base station (BS) via the satellite in response to determining that the PUR configuration is valid, a communication signal in a PUR. For example, the UE may determine, based on the location-related information associated with the satellite, if the parameter satisfies the threshold, and transmit UL data in a PUR occasion based on the determined parameter satisfying the threshold.

The method includes providing a NGSG including a satellite AS/NAS stack, a terrestrial 4G stack and a relay to connect the satellite AS/NAS stack and the terrestrial 4G stack; transporting a 4G traffic between a 4G UE and the NGSG using a satellite air interface; utilizing a terrestrial network between the NGSG and a 4G CN to transport the 4G traffic; and mapping, with the relay, the 4G traffic between the satellite AS/NAS stack and the terrestrial 4G stack and vice versa, where the satellite air interface is better suited for satellite communications than the terrestrial network. A system and method for multiplexing a first-generation UE and a second-generation UE on a satellite channel.
