A plurality of auxiliary transmitters associated with at least one main transmitter, transmitting broadcast area wide programming for their respective broadcast areas, wherein a mechanism enables switching on transmission of localized auxiliary information content by at least one of the plurality of auxiliary transmitters, wherein the at least one of plurality of auxiliary transmitters transmits localized auxiliary information content on a single frequency network transmission frequency, and wherein the localized auxiliary information content includes a data item that enables retrieval of promotional information from a remote server, when the data item is analyzed by a software application.
Abstract:
A method of controlling operation of an end device using a one-way radio broadcast includes sending an encrypted message from a client application of a computing device to a first network server, sending the encrypted message from the first network server to a second server included with radio broadcast automation equipment, transmitting the encrypted message in a radio broadcast signal using one or more radio broadcast transmitters, receiving the radio broadcast signal at an end device, and decrypting the encrypted message using the end device. The encrypted message includes control information to control operation of the end device.

The present invention relates to a method, an apparatus and a system for the reproduction of a specific multimedia content. In particular comprising the step of acquiring one or more samples of a specific multimedia content reproduced by a mobile multimedia radio/television apparatus (201), where said specific multimedia content is comprised in a first signal emitted by a broadcast-type radio/television network (109), comprising the further step of determining an identifier of the specific multimedia content and the value of a quality parameter of said first signal. According to this value of the quality parameter of said first signal, the invention comprises the following further steps of receiving on a multimedia telephone apparatus (208) the specific multimedia content through a second signal emitted by a cellular telephone network (110), sending said specific multimedia content to one or more multimedia reproduction means comprised in said mobile multimedia radio/television apparatus (201).
Abstract:
A receiving apparatus includes circuitry configured to receive a digital broadcast signal which uses an internet protocol (IP) transfer method. Based on control information included in the digital broadcast signal, the circuitry acquires at least one of a broadcast component or a communication component, and controls an operation of each section which performs a predetermined process relating to the acquired at least one component. The broadcast component and the communication component are associated with a component hierarchy including a first hierarchy level, a second hierarchy level, and a third hierarchy level for each component category.
