Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren, ein Computerprogrammprodukt sowie ein System zur automatischen Anpassung der internen Konfiguration einer externen Netzwerkschnittstelle in einem industriellen Automatisierungssystem. Anwender von Industrial Edge Geräten wollen immer häufiger auch entsprechende Applikationen verwenden welche einen direkten Layer 2 -Netzzugang aufweisen. Sofern diese Applikationen aber in sogenannten Containern gekapselt sind, erfordert die Konfiguration der Schnittstellen besonderes Wissen, welches über das Domänen-Wissen eines Fachmannes hinausgeht. Das hier vorgeschlagene Verfahren sowie die Vorrichtung wollen eine Lösung für das angegebene Problem liefern. Das beschriebene Verfahren befreit den industriellen Anwender in vorteilhafter Weise davon, sich tiefergehendes IT-Wissen über die unterschiedlichen Namen von Netzwerk-Schnittstellen und das Edge-interne virtuelle Netzwerk aneignen zu müssen. Die Realisierung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens wird als (Logische) „Zwischenschicht" vorgeschlagen, die die für den Anwender sichtbaren Netzwerkparameter aus dessen Anwendersicht anhand der Edge-internen virtuellen Netzwerktopologie auf die jeweils zutreffenden konkreten Netzwerkschnittstellen umsetzt.

Abstract: A method, a computer program product, and a system for server provisioning and deployment. The method includes receiving a deployment configuration for a server. The deployment configuration includes a requested software build and a requested installation of an application and configuration for the server. The method also includes reconfiguring hardware on the server based on the deployment configuration and via an out-of-band management card on the server and pushing a boot loader on to the server for installation of an operating system. The method further includes performing an installation of the operating system on the server, transmitting an auto configuration file to the server. The auto configuration file provides installation properties relating to the application. The method also includes monitoring a status of the server during the installation of the application using a serial terminal output on the server.

Abstract: This technology enables a dynamic host configuration protocol ("DHCP") Layer 2 relay in a Virtual Extensible Local Area Network ("VXLAN") overlay fabric. A host device broadcasts a configuration request, such as a DHCP discover, across an Ethernet virtual private network ("EVPN") overlay fabric. The DHCP discover is intercepted by a VXLAN Tunnel End Point ("VTEP") device with Layer 2 bridging functionality. The VTEP device selects a centralized gateway ("CGW") device with Layer 3 relay functionality as a destination for the DHCP discover. The VTEP device encapsulates the DHCP discover with a unicast VXLAN header comprising the media access control ("MAC") address of the CGW device and transmits the encapsulated DHCP discover to the CGW device, resolving the destination address associated with the broadcast. The CGW device transmits the DHCP discover to an Internet Protocol ("IP") address associated with a DHCP server that is external to the EVPN overlay fabric.
