Abstract: A method performed by a proxy node for maintaining a registration of a terminal to an Internet Protocol, IP, Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network, in a communications network is provided. The terminal subscribes to a push notification service for receiving push notifications from a push server. Upon a successful registration procedure of the terminal to the IMS network, the proxy node establishes (301) a WebSocket connection to the terminal. The connection is established using a session identity obtained by the terminal during the registration procedure. Triggered by the establishing (301) of the WebSocket connection, the proxy node maintains (302) the registration of the terminal to the IMS network by periodically updating the registration also when the terminal is suspended. The proxy node receives (303) a service request related to the terminal from the IMS network. After instructing the push server to notify the terminal of the service request, the proxy node obtains (305) a notification comprising the session identity from the terminal. The notification notifies the proxy node that the terminal is no longer suspended. The notification is obtained over the WebSocket connection between the proxy node and the terminal. The notification reconnects the terminal to the IMS network. The proxy node send (306) the service request to the terminal, enabling the terminal to handle the service request without performing a new registration procedure to the IMS network.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a media delivery application transmits encoded chunks of a media title to a playback application. In operation, the media delivery application receives, via a media channel, an encoded chunk request that has been transmitted over a TCP connection. The media delivery application also receives, via a side channel, a pacing specification that is associated with the encoded chunk request and has been transmitted over the TCP connection. As per the encoded chunk request, the media delivery application retrieves encoded chunk content. The media delivery application sets a parameter associated with the TCP connection equal to a parameter value based on the pacing specification. Subsequently, the media delivery application causes TCP segments corresponding to the encoded chunk content to be transmitted, via the media channel, over the TCP connection in accordance with the first parameter value.

Abstract: Anonymity and privacy of a client device that fetches a content from a web server are improved by using an intermediate device located along the communication path between the client device and the web server. The primary or exclusive function of the intermediate device may be to serve as an intermediate device, and may be implemented as a stand-alone dedicated client device located at a residential premises, or may be integrated with another device, such as a router or a sensor unit, and may communicate using wired communication (such as LAN) or wireless communication (such as WLAN). The intermediate device may modify a content request from the client device in order to avoid identification or blocking by a web server that uses web tracking, such as fingerprinting. The modification may use a web browser, such as a headless browser, for emulating a different device or user.
