摘要： A video recorder/reproducer apparatus is provided with an antenna input terminal (1), an antenna output terminal (2), a splitter circuit (6) having an input coupled to the antenna input terminal and an output coupled to the antenna output terminal, a tuner circuit (tuner) having an input coupled to the antenna input terminal, and an output coupled to a recording/reproducing unit. A modulator unit is present, having an input coupled to the output of the recording/reproducing unit and an output which is coupled to the antenna output terminal (2). Supply voltage generator means (38) for generating a supply voltage for at least the splitter circuit (6) is present. In accordance with the invention, switching means (4, 8) are present having a first terminal coupled to the antenna input terminal (1) and a second terminal coupled to the antenna output terminal (2). The switching means realize an internal connection between its two terminals in response to the supply voltage generator means (38) being switched off and for realizing an open connection between its two terminals in response to the supply voltage generator means being switched on. The switching means comprise a FET (4), having its first and second main electrodes coupled to the first and second terminal, respectively, of the switching means.

摘要： An ABX testing device (10) for comparing for example two video or audio programs (12, 14) is provided to determine if the two programs (12, 14) can be distinguishable. The device selects randomly (18) one of the programs and the tester (10) can listen or view and compare sequentially the random selection to either of the programs (12, 14). The tester (10) then can vote (22) by designating one of the programs (12, 14) as being the randomly selected program. The designations are accumulated and statistics are generated regarding the same. Preferably the device includes a control box, a switch mechanism (22) and a PC coupled to both by standard parallel cable.

摘要： A video system comprises a perforated screen, a camera assembly and a controller operatively connected to the camera assembly. The camera assembly includes a plurality of cameras and is positioned on a rear face of the perforated screen. Apertures of each of the plurality of cameras are substantially aligned with a corresponding hole in the perforated screen. The controller receives an image from each of the plurality of cameras of the camera assembly and identifies, based on the images received from each of the cameras, an object located in front of the perforated screen. The controller may generate a composite image of a scene captured by the cameras. The controller may identify a light source illuminating the perforated screen. The controller may cancel the light source or the object from the composite image. A calibration pattern may be used to geometrically adjust each camera of the camera assembly.

摘要： A consumer electronic device, such as a digital video recorder (DVR), has a media storage storing program code modules and content and a network interface for interfacing with one or more remote servers. Content is stored in a content area, modules for monitoring and controlling the consumer electronic device are stored in a system area, and recovery modules are stored in an error recovery area. The monitoring modules activate the recovery modules in response to the detection of an error. The recovery modules diagnose the error and attempt one or more solutions. One solution attempted by the recovery modules is to activate a network recovery module that downloads and installs new program modules for controlling the consumer electronic device from a remote server.
