System and method to ingest one or more video streams across a web platform are disclosed. The system an input module configured to receive at least one web address associated of the corresponding video streams across the web platform, a video analysis module configured to analyse content of the video streams, a token receiving module configured to identify contact detail associated to the user on receiving a prompt from the contact detail; to generate an automated message to transfer contact detail of the user and to receive an access token from the user, a video exception module configured to enable the user to debug a video retrieving process if a prompt is not generated from the contact detail and to create at least one of a set of rules, a set of logic or a combination thereof, to analyse the content of the video streams.

A playback device is configured to (i) transmit, via at least one wireless network interface and indication that the playback device is available for setup, (ii) establish a direct communication path with a computing device configured to operate on a secure wireless network, (iii) provide, outside the direct communication path, authentication information to the computing device, (iv) verify, via the direct communication path, the authentication information with the computing device, (v) after verifying the authentication information via the direct communication path, receive, from the computing device over the direct communication path, network configuration parameters for connecting to the secure wireless network, (vi) use the network configuration parameters to connect to the secure wireless network, and (vii) transition from communicating with the computing device over the direct communication path to communicating with the computing device over the secure wireless network.

Systems and methods are presented for reducing network traffic when retrieving media guidance data. For example, a media guidance application receives a first user selection to display a group of media asset identifiers (e.g., video-on-demand listings) and retrieves detailed information from a remote server relating to the media asset identifiers to display to a user. The media guidance application then may receive a user selection to display a second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., purchased media assets). If any of the media asset identifiers are common to both groups, then the media guidance application already obtained the detailed information and the detailed information does not need to be retransmitted in order to be displayed. Thus, the media guidance application only retrieves detailed information for media asset identifiers unique to the second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., they are only on the purchased media asset list).

A technique to reduce memory bandwidth requirements for image and/or video processing systems is described herein. The technique may include retrieving a plurality of images from a memory, and sequentially processing overlapping subsets of the plurality of images to provide a plurality of output images, wherein the output images are spatially and temporally different. Example implementations may include a processor configured to process input images and to provide output images, a buffer coupled to the processor and configured to store a plurality of input images, and a control unit coupled to the buffer and configured to select subsets of input images from the plurality of images to process for a respective output image, wherein each subset of input images from the plurality of images overlaps with a previous and a subsequent subset of input images from the plurality of images.
