Abstract: Dark ride system 1 comprises a ride space; a set of wirelessly-controlled and tracklessly-guided passenger vehicle platforms; a set of wirelessly-controlled and tracklessly-guided themed scenery vehicle platforms; a load and unload area for passengers; and a control system. Passengers board a predetermined subset of the passenger vehicle platforms at the load and unload area and the wirelessly-controlled and tracklessly-guided themed scenery vehicle platforms are dispatched in an initial spatial arrangement. During a ride show, the control system choreographs and changes the wirelessly-controlled and tracklessly-guided themed scenery vehicle platforms.

Abstract: A computerized method for controlling a target-motion device based on motion of a first source-motion object. The method has the steps of: capturing motion-related data at the first source-motion object, the motion-related data representing the motion of the first source-motion object; processing, at the first source-motion object, the motion-related data by converting captured motion-related data from a first format to a second format; transmitting the processed motion-related data to a server; forwarding, by the server, the processed motion-related data to the target-motion device; and moving at least a portion of the target-motion device based on at least the processed motion-related data.

Abstract: An actuatable surface system may include a plurality of actuatable assemblies. Each actuatable assembly may include a flexible membrane and a bracket at least partially sealing the flexible membrane within the bracket. A fluid conduit is configured to apply fluid to a rear side of the flexible membrane to cause the flexible membrane to form a raised structure relative to the bracket, which in turn causes a surface layer, e.g., a projection surface, to protrude to accommodate the raised structure. A controller is configured to address each individual actuatable assembly to cause the fluid source to apply the fluid to form the raised structure.

Abstract: A safety check apparatus and method for testing a lanyard system prior to entering a challenge course. The apparatus comprises a track arranged at an entrance of the challenge course. The track includes a first position and a second position above a supporting surface. A moveable member is supported by and displaceable relative to the track. The track is connected to a course track that traverses the challenge course such that the moveable member is displaceable therebetween. A lanyard is attached to the moveable member and extends a length from the moveable member. A user harness is coupled to the lanyard. When at least a portion of a user's weight is supported by the harness, the connection point between the harness and the lanyard is positioned higher above the supporting surface at the second position of the track than at the first position of the track.
