There is described a package forming unit (9) comprising a plurality of jaw units (17), each having at least one respective operative assembly (26) adapted to engage the tube (3) and to at least partially form a, in use, the advancing tube (3), one respective sealing element (27) adapted to at least partially transversally seal the tube (3) along a transversal sealing band (18) and a pair of interaction tabs (20) adapted to interact with the tube (3). Each jaw unit (17) can be controlled as a function of the filling level of the tube (3) in at least an operative configuration in which the respective operative assembly (26), the respective sealing element (27) and the respective pair of interaction tabs (20) are controlled in respective active states while advancing along respective operative portions (R1; S1) and a partial operative configuration in which the respective sealing element (27) is controlled in the respective active state and the respective operative assembly (26) and/or the respective pair of interaction tabs (20) is/are controlled in a respective inactive state while, in use, advancing along the respective operative portion (R1; S1).

An inductor (206) for transversal sealing of a tube (104) of packaging material (108) filled with food product. The inductor (206) comprising a main body (402) comprising a first and a second sealing surface (502a, 502b) arranged to face the packaging material (108) during a sealing state (S), a recess (504) provided in the main body (402) for receiving a knife (208) during a cutting state (C), wherein the first and second sealing surface (502a, 502b) are placed on opposite sides of the recess (504), and an electric conductor arrangement, provided in the main body (402), for inducing eddy currents in the packaging material (108) during the sealing state (S), wherein each of the first and second sealing surface (502a, 502b) comprises a top section (506), an inner sealing section (508) placed between the recess (504) and the top section (506), and an outer sealing section (510) placed between the top section (506) and an outer edge (512) of the inductor (206), and wherein the inner sealing section (508) is inclined towards the recess (504), and the outer sealing section (510) is inclined towards the outer edge (512), thereby providing for that product in the food product held inside the tube (104) is pushed away from a sealing band of the tube as the first and second sealing surfaces (502a, 502b) are pressed towards the sealing band.

A method of manufacturing a sachet for a concentrated liquid product is provided. In embodiments the method comprises the steps of: i) providing a sheet of water soluble film; ii) wrapping the sheet around a mandrel; iii) heat sealing edges of the sheet to form a tubular roll; iv) removing the mandrel; v) filling the tubular roll with a liquid concentrated product; and vi) heat sealing a base and a top of the tubular roll to form a sealed sachet comprising the liquid concentrated product

A vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) system includes a dispenser, a drive system, a void-forming mechanism, and a film support system. The dispenser is configured to dispense a product into a tube of film. The drive system is configured to selectively advance the tube of film in a downstream direction. The void-forming mechanism is configured to periodically close on the tube of film to void or clean an area of the tube of film. The film support system is configured to provide lateral support to the tube of film. The film support system is positioned upstream of the void-forming mechanism. A method of packaging a product using the VFFS system includes the dispenser dispensing the product into the tube of film, the drive system advancing the tube of film in the downstream direction, and the void-forming mechanism closing on the tube of film to in the area of the tube of film.

There is described a method for forming sealed packages (2) filled with a pourable product comprising at least the steps of forming a tube (3) from a web (4) of packaging material, filling the pourable product into the tube (3) for forming a product column (8) within the tube (3) and directing, during the step of forming and the step of filling, a sterile gas into the product column (8) for forming and/or maintaining a gas cushion (10) within the product column (8).

The invention relates to an arrangement adapted to package a liquid consumable product in a package. The arrangement comprises an infeed to provide prepared packaging material having a first side (6) and a second side (7), said second side (7) being adapted to be in contact with the consumable product, a digital printing system (4) coupled to said infeed and adapted to print at least one color onto at least a portion of the first side (6) of the prepared packaging material, a sterilization system (8) having a low voltage electron beam device (12) adapted to emit an electron beam on said first and second side (6, 7) of said packaging material, and a packaging machine (9) coupled to an outfeed of the digital printing system (4) and adapted to provide a package from said prepared packaging material, said package being filled with the consumable product. The invention also relates to a method for packaging a liquid consumable product in a package.

The present Invention teaches a new apparatus and process for manufacturing mesh bags using a tube cloth. The apparatus and process involve supplying a continuous tube cloth and at least one band with preprinted labels, propping up the tube cloth with a dynamic guiding assembly, attaching the preprinted labels to the tube cloth using hot melted adhesive or heat sealing methods and manufacturing a product from the tube cloth with the horizontal preprinted labels, and attaching plastic film to the tube mesh cloth. The invention also teaches a dynamic guiding assembly which can be used to punch holes on the tube cloth with heating press and avoid attaching of two opposite sides of the tube cloth.

The present invention relates to a method of producing packages from a tube of packaging material for a liquid food product, comprising the steps of reforming a flat web (10) of packaging material into a cylindrical tube, feeding said tube of packaging material in first direction (Z), filling said tube with a liquid food product, transversally sealing said tube, at regular intervals, into separate package volumes, wherein a longitudinal axis (Y 1 , Y 3 ) of every second transversal seal being parallel to each other, and a longitudinal axis (Y 1 , Y 2 ) of each adjacent transversal seal being perpendicular to each other, and wherein a longitudinal axis (Y 1 , Y 2 , Y 3 ) of each transversal seal is angled in a range between 15-30° in relation to a plane which is orthogonal to the longitudinal axis (Z) of the tube of packaging material. The invention also relates to a packaging material for use in the method, a package being produced with the method, and a filling machine performing the method.
