In one aspect, a method for mitigating detonation in a skip fire engine control system is described. The working chambers of the engine are operated in a skip fire manner to deliver a desired torque. One or more detonations are detected in the engine. In response to the detection of the one or more detonations, the spark timing for one or more of the working chambers is retarded. Additionally, the firing fraction used to operate the engine is increased. The increase in the firing fraction helps to compensate for torque lost due to the retarding of the spark timing.

In a reconstruction processing (S1), reconstruction processing is performed to list mode data to firstly capture a reconstruction image. Then, in a projection step (S2), the reconstruction image obtained in the reconstruction processing step is projected to capture a projection image. In a scatter component extracting step S4, low-frequency components are extracted from the projection image obtained in the projection step to obtain scatter components. Even when the data contains a missing region, the reconstruction processing unlikely to be influenced by the missing region suppresses the influence by the missing, and the resultant reconstruction image is projected. Consequently, the projection image having dummy data being interpolated to the missing region is obtainable. As a result, projection from the list mode data through the reconstruction image achieves the projection image with no missing data. Accordingly, precious estimation of the scatter components is obtainable.

Apparatus and associated methods reduce harmonic distortion of a excitation current by diverting the excitation current substantially away from a number of LEDs arranged in a series circuit until the current or its associated periodic excitation voltage reaches a predetermined threshold level, and ceasing the current diversion while the excitation current or voltage is substantially above the predetermined threshold level. In an illustrative embodiment, a rectifier may receive an AC (e.g., sinusoidal) voltage and deliver unidirectional current to a string of series-connected LEDs. An effective turn-on threshold voltage of the diode string may be reduced by diverting current around at least one of the diodes in the string while the AC voltage is below a predetermined level. In various examples, selective current diversion within the LED string may extend the input current conduction angle and thereby substantially reduce harmonic distortion for AC LED lighting systems.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for assembling and extracting command and control data. In embodiments of the present disclosure, the command and control data is segmented and inserted into multiple packet headers. The header packets are identified by flags such as “First portion,” “Middle portion,” “Last portion,” or “Null Byte.” When a receiver extracts the command and control data from the headers, it tracks the flags associated with the headers. The command and control data is saved to buffer in association with its associated flag. The receiver uses the flags to determine when all command and control data headers have been received. The command and control data is then reconstructed and used to decrypt audio visual content.
