摘要： A nonmodular prosthesis having a retainer for a modular bearing and a nonmodular primary bearing directly molded to the base. A nonmodular tibial prosthesis is provided with a mechanical release member (12) mounted on a tibial base (10) in contact with the nonmodular primary bearing (26). The release member includes a wedge portion (16) with a superiorly posteriorly inclined face, and is designed to be driven anteriorly upon actuation so as to force the primary bearing off of the tibial base, after which the primary bearing and release member are removed and replaced with a modular bearing.

摘要： A cement mold (10) for use in forming a temporary orthopedic implant used in an orthopedic surgical procedure. The cement mold (10) includes first and second molds to define first and second portions of the temporary implant. A coupling mechanism joins the first mold to the second mold such that the cement mold (10) is substantially sealed to define the temporary implant. The cement mold (10) further defines an input port (66) which is operable to receive the delivery nozzle to supply antibiotic loaded bone cement within an inner sidewall of the cement mold (10). At least one ventilation port (76) is defined by the cement mold (10) which is operable to vent trapped air upon filling the cement mold (10) with the cement through the input port (66). The cement mold (10) further includes a removal mechanism which is operable to assist in tearing and separating the cement mold (10) from the temporary implant.

The bearing member (156) includes a first bearing surface (200) that articulates with the first femoral bearing surface (162), a second bearing surface (202) that articulates with the first femoral bearing surface (164) and a third bearing surface (198) that articulates with the tibial bearing surface (196). The bearing member (156) further includes a posterior lip extension (284) that substantially inhibits the bearing member (156) from dislocating upon flexion of the knee prosthesis (146).

摘要： A femoral knee joint prosthesis 10 that provides access to an intramedullary canal of a femur 14 after the femoral knee joint prosthesis has been implanted. The femoral knee joint prosthesis 10 comprises:

a first condylar portion 32 having a first femoral bearing surface 36;
a second condylar portion 34 having a second femoral bearing surface 38;
an intercondylar portion 40 extending between said first condylar portion 32 and said second condylar portion 34 defining an opening 56 passing therethrough; and
a seal member 66 operable to substantially seal said opening 56 in said intercondylar portion 40. The seal member 66 is further operable to be opened to allow access to the intramedually canal of the femur 14 without having to remove the femoral knee joint prosthesis 10 from the femur 14.
